EVA decks offer numerous advantages over PE decks. EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is more durable, non-slip and water-resistant than PE (polyethylene). It provides better grip, can be surfed without wax and retains its shape for a long time. PE decks, on the other hand, are softer and offer a more pleasant feel, but wear out more quickly.
Skin irritation can occur due to the relatively rough or non-slip EVA decks. It may be advisable to wear a surf suit or rashvest.
