This text and picture book designed by the star designer Bruce Mau reflects questions posed about pictures and concepts of the body - the body in movement. It is dedicated to dance, the experimental territory of the moving body par excellence; it explores topics such as body movement and film, choreography and spatial concepts, violation of taboos, aesthetics and violence in both the sciences and the arts, sheds light on cults and mnemonic myths as well as on the mechanical and manneristic body. The texts of well-known authors and the picture essay by Bruce Mau combine to present the fragments of the multiple pictorial dismemberment of the body as a vivid history of movement.
