✓ CR-39 Custom-Made Lenses

CR-39 is made by polymerization of diethyleneglycol bis allylcarbonate (ADC) in presence of diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate (IPP) initiator.
"CR-39" is an abbreviation of Columbia Resin 39. CR-39 has the highest Abbe value of any lens. An Abbe value defines the chromatic aberration of material, and this effect is generally more noticeable in peripheral vision than when looking through the center of a lens. Resin raw is injected into lenses mould. After that, the anti-scratch coating is applied.

The bigger the category number of lenses, the better. Category 3 in lenses, is considered better than categories 2 & 1. This is because they provide extra protection from both visible and UV light. These lenses allow less than 20% of visible light to penetrate the lens. This means that they will block out 80%+ of light. Category 3 lenses are considered some of the best lenses in the optical industry.

Our Acetate Materials are coming from some of the biggest acetate factories in Europe. Fabricated from wood pulp and cotton.

Mazzucchelli 1849, is an Italian Company based in Castiglione Olona, and is a worldwide leader in the manufacturing and distribution of sheets made of Cellulose Acetate, polymer of natural origin, traditionally used in the production of optical and sunglass frames. Cellulose acetate is a modified natural polymer. To obtain Cellulose Acetate Mazzucchelli starts with the selection of renewable sources such as certain varieties of trees and cotton linters. From these sources the purest part of the cellulose is extracted which is subsequently treated with Acetic Anhydride and transformed into Cellulose Acetate powder.
