Die festen D-förmigen Seitenteile dieses Gebisses ermöglichen eine direkte Übertragung der Zügelhilfe auf Zunge und Unterkiefer. Gleichzeitig schützen sie die empfindlichen Maulwinkel und sorgen für eine ruhige Lage im Maul.
