La nuova S5 ha ridotto la resistenza aerodinamica di 65 grammi e ha aumentato la superficie del telaio, pur riducendo il peso complessivo. Le sezioni del telaio più pronunciate massimizzano le forme consentite dall'UCI. L'iconico attacco a V è stato ulteriormente perfezionato e la nuova forcella è stata progettata per semplificare l'intero avantreno.

Inoltre, un nuovo e rivoluzionario concetto di design delle ruote è stato sviluppato in collaborazione con Reserve per aumentare la stabilità e ridurre la resistenza aerodinamica in condizioni di turbolenza.
