Die Goldberg-Variationen aufzunehmen war für Lang Lang ein Lebenstraum: Nun präsentiert der Star-Pianist sein erstes Barock Album. Mehr als 20 Jahre beschäftigte er sich mit dem Werk von Bach, das als eine der größten Herausforderungen für Pianisten gilt. Bereits als 17-Jähriger spielte er es auf eine Art und Weise, die den Pianisten und Dirigenten Christoph Eschenbach damals – nachts, in einem leeren Theater – staunend zurückließ: »Auswendig, perfekt studiert, mit enormem Stilvermögen – welches Erlebnis!«, erinnert sich Eschenbach.

„Die Goldberg-Variationen sind nicht nur ein einzigartiges Werk der Klavierliteratur, sondern auch das kreativste und multidimensionalste. Es ist tiefgründig und emotional und geht direkt ins Herz. Man kann in dieses Werk immer tiefer vordringen und jedes Mal etwas Neues entdecken. Das Stück lässt uns alles aus uns herausholen“, so Lang Lang.

Als erster Pianist veröffentlicht Lang Lang gleich zwei Interpretationen auf einem Album: Eine Studio-Aufnahme und ein Live-Mitschnitt des Konzerts aus der berühmten Thomaskirche in Leipzig, wo Bach selbst wirkte und begraben ist.

I'd give 4 1/2 if there was one. The shelves thwmself are nice I just don't like the visible little black set screws. The shelves themself look great and are not wobbly at all if you install correctly. I purposely installed the bracket upside down because of the little black setting screws; I didnt want them showing because the shelves are above eye level and the screws are black and I didn't want them showing. But that made the shelf lean amd wobbly so I turned them back over the way they are supposed to be and that made them level and sturdy. I guess I'll paint the little screws.
