Standort: Cattleya maxima wächst epiphytisch, gelegentlich lithophytisch in Höhenlagen von 10 bis 1500 Metern in jahreszeitlich sehr trockenen Küstenwäldern.
Anmerkungen: Bei dieser Aussaat handelt es sich um Nachzuchten von Cattleya maxima var. semi-alba mit selektierten Eltern, die sich durch deutlichere Färbung der Lippe und intensivere Streifung von der durchschnittlichen Form dieser
Varietät unterscheidet. Interessant ist, das Cattleya maxima var. semi-alba ursprünglich als Cattleya maxima var. virginales veröffentlicht wurde.
