sera X-Edge 300, 450 und 700 sind moderne Eckfilter, die dank durchdachter Technik besonders leistungsstark sind, dabei leise arbeiten und sich optisch sehr gut ins Aquarium integrieren lassen. Die mechanische Filtration erfolgt über ein Filtervlies sowie einen Filterschwamm, die Schmutzpartikel wirksam vorfiltern. So schützen sie die biologischen Filtermedien vor Verschmutzung und erhöhen die biologische Effektivität des Eckfilters. Der Filterkorb ist bereits mit dem biologischen Hochleistungsfiltermedium sera siporax mini Professional befüllt – für eine verlässliche biologische Filtration.

Der Wasserdurchfluss der sera X-Edge Eckfilter ist stufenlos regulierbar und kann mithilfe des enthaltenen Sprührohres auch in der Richtung variabel eingestellt werden. Alternativ bietet die Entenschnabeldüse die Möglichkeit, eine weiche Strömung zu erzeugen.  Mit dieser Düse kann auch die Sauerstoffzufuhr erhöht werden: über den Injektor kann mithilfe des beiliegenden Air-Sets Luft angesogen werden, die anschließend mit dem Wasser vermischt ins Aquarium befördert wird.   
 
Selbstverständlich wurde – wie bei allen Filtern von sera – auch der Sicherheitsaspekt bei der Konstruktion der sera X-Edge Eckfilter berücksichtigt. Eckfilter können für Fische und Garnelen nämlich unter Umständen gefährlich werden. Dabei gibt es zwei Bereiche zu beachten. Zum einen schwimmen Fische gelegentlich hinter den Eckfilter und laufen Gefahr, dort eingeklemmt zu werden. Aus diesem Grund wurde der “Swim-Stop” integriert, der die Fische daran hindert, hinter den Eckfilter zu schwimmen. Zum anderen krabbeln besonders junge Garnelen häufig durch die Filtermedien in das Innere des Filters – das kann für die Tiere natürlich gefährlich werden. Um dies zu verhindern, wurden passgenaue Filtermedien verwendet.

Die Befestigung der Eckfilter ist denkbar einfach: eine Halteplatte wird mit vier Saugnäpfen an der Scheibe befestigt. Anschließend kann der Eckfilter an der Halteplatte festgeklickt werden. Zur Reinigung kann der Filter genauso wieder von der Halteplatte entfernt werden. Alternativ ist auch die Entnahme des Vlieses unter Wasser möglich.

One of my favorites because it doesn't sting my eyes

This was my first time purchasing this from Amazon though I've bought this product elsewhere before. This is a sunscreen I come back to because I can use it on my body and it works relatively well on my face as well. It is hydrating and can give a matte-ish looking finish although on my face I'd say it leaves more of a dewy look because I put moisturizer on prior to applying. I've seen a few reviews mention there is pilling when applying to the face and while I've had that happen it's normally only during the day when I reapply. I think that first thing in the morning I don't really have that issue because of the moisturizer I put on before- I let the moisturizer soak in a bit before going in with the sunscreen. My favorite thing about this sunscreen is that it doesn't sting my eyes, I've worn it out on 90+ SoCal heat and it has not stung my eyes- there's been numerous sunscreen I like on my face but don't repurchase because even mid-80"s heat causes them to run and both sting and blur my vision. As for my giving this a 4 rather than a 5 it is because it leaves a mild white cast after I apply it norming and reapplying throughout the day. The mild white cast does eventually go away but it does take some time, though that is the one downsides I am glad that I'm at least not forced to sport a ghost-ish face all day. In all honestly, the cast is only mild when compared to others like the New "Sheer" Bluelizard SPF 50 face lotion, among others. I'm a little jealous of others who say they don't have a white cast at all but different products react differently with different people so I know it might just be a "me thing." Overall this is one of the sheer and non-tinted sunscreens I am happiest with and will repurchase again as needed unless I stumble onto that unicorn 50 broad spectrum SPF, cast free, no eye burning/ irritating, and reasonably priced and sized sunscreen =)
