Künstler wie Swans, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions In The Sky, Wolves in the Throne Room und Behemoth führen ihre Inspiration auf das visionäre Schaffen von Fields of the Nephilim zurück. Ursprünglich 1987 veröffentlicht, markierte Dawnrazor das Debütalbum der Band und begründete ihren unverwechselbaren Stil aus düsterer Western-Mythologie, Gothic-Rock und apokalyptischer Atmosphäre. Nun erscheint dieses wegweisende Werk in einer neu gemasterten, definitiven Edition, gepresst auf weißem Vinyl und erweitert zu einem Doppel-LP-Set für verbesserte Klangqualität. Diese Veröffentlichung vereint erstmals alle 14 Albumtracks auf Vinyl, so wie es ursprünglich gedacht war. Der eröffnende Song enthält ein Sample des Ennio-Morricone-Themas "Man with the Harmonica" aus Sergio Leones epischem Western Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod (Once Upon a Time in the West). Der Song "Preacher Man" gilt als einer der größten Gothic-Tracks aller Zeiten. Louder Sound schrieb über den Titeltrack: "Sein langsames, bedrohliches Tempo, unheimliche, jenseitige Klänge und die herausragende Musikalität der Band heben dieses Stück auf ein neues Niveau."
