Der Fotojournalist Josef Heinrich (Jupp) Darchinger (1925-2013) begleitete wie kein zweiter die Akteur:innen und gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen der Bonner Republik. Als kritischer Chronist prägte er das visuelle Gedächtnis dieser Epoche - vom Wirtschaftswunder der Adenauer-Ära bis zum wiedervereinigten Deutschland. Seine Aufnahmen von Persönlichkeiten wie Willy Brandt und Helmut Schmidt sind Ikonen der Zeitgeschichte. Am 6. August 2025 wäre Josef Heinrich Darchinger 100 Jahre alt geworden. Aus diesem Anlass würdigen die Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung und das LVR-LandesMuseum Bonn den außergewöhnlichen Fotografen mit einer Ausstellung. Neben prominenten Motiven sind bislang weitgehend unbekannte Arbeiten zu sehen, die neue Perspektiven auf Darchingers einzigartigen Bildkosmos sowie die Arbeitsprozesse des Familienbetriebs Darchinger und fotojournalistische Hintergründe eröffnen. Die ausstellungsbegleitende Publikation vertieft diese Aspekte und beleuchtet unter anderem das Bildarchiv des Fotografen im Archiv der sozialen Demokratie.

I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
