About the Workshop:

This in person class at Center for Book Arts is taught by instructor Elizabeth Castaldo.

The letterpress has so many more capabilities than its classic wood and metal type uses. Photopolymer plates are a new school material that brings versatility, convenience, and a wealth of design options to the old school world of letterpress.

In this workshop, students will learn how to prepare plates from hand-drawn illustrations and/or digital images. Then students will learn how to make plates using CBA’s exposure unit. Finally, the class will set up the press and print! This workshop is designed for individuals with some letterpress experience.

Fun Fact: In the 1980’s printers discovered that light sensitive photopolymer could replace movable type, meaning they were no longer limited to the amount or kind of type they had in their shop.

Denim feels thin but soft
Size: 32W x 32L, Color: All My Days Selvedge
The denim seems thinner than from years ago. 100% cotton feels soft. Fit me same as other stretchy 505 that are made with elastine. Waist size is fine. Haven't washed them yet. Yes, the price is high, but I like the 100% cotton and will likely buy more selvedge jeans.

100 cotton
Size: 33W x 32L, Color: Midnight Selvedge
These are great, just keep in mind that 100% cotton is not the same as 99 cotton 1 elastane, so size up if you tend to be in between mesures at waist.
