The accelerometer measures the depth and frequency of the chest wall movement during each compression and converts it to the distance traveled. The force sensor measures the force applied during CPR and also determines whether there is complete pressure relief of the patient's chest between the compressions.
The device provides feedback as to whether the first responder is calling during CPR. Thus, trained rescue workers are supported in performing a proper CPR regardless of the individual stiffness of a patient's chest.
