These will be the last upper control arm (UCA) bushings you ever purchase! The sleeves are made from corrosion-proof stainless steel, and the bushings are 100% Delrin AF, which is an ultra-strong Delrin combined with ultra-slippery PTFE (no urethane). We've put a single set of these bushings through multiple NORRA 1000 races. After every race, we take them apart for inspection and they continue to look practically new—so we just keep running them!
This bushing kit is installed completely dry and, in most circumstances, never makes a sound. In some cases, if the temperature and humidity is just right, they can make some noise that usually goes away in short order—but causes no wear or any other issues. If need be, you can spray them with some off-the-shelf PTFE penetrating dry lube that will augment the PTFE already in the Delrin AF bushing material. This is done purely externally and does not require any disassembly.

This GW design also eliminates the need to add a spot weld when installing in a 2WD— now that's some forward thinking! We strongly recommend these over the aftermarket Meyle-brand upper control arm bushings, which we also carry. Do it right the first time, and never think about it again! Fitment Note
Some Vanagons vary; shock towers can be wider/narrower than others. This bushing kit is designed to fit perfectly on the majority of Vanagons out there, but there may be rare instances where stretching the arms on a 2WD may be necessary for exact fitment (details in instructions).
Important install note: This kit is designed to work with 4 mm thick eccentric washers. All 2wd Vanagons have 4 mm eccentric washers, but Syncros could have 4 mm, 5 mm, or 5.5 mm thick eccentric washers. If you have 5 or 5.5 mm thick eccentric washers, you'll need to buy 4 mm thick eccentric washers.
