Heavens To Betsy Lotus is a tall lotus specimen with fabulous red flowers named for Betsy Bancroft, an illustrious poet and storyteller! Heavens To Betsy Lotus is a HEAVY BLOOMER! The lovely red blooms have sunny-yellow receptacles and a golden-yellow fringe of stamens. 'Heavens to Betsy Lotus' produces impressive seeds and makes an excellent addition to your pond or large containers on your balcony, deck or patio. This sacred lotus blooms early and often!

Lotus Planting Instructions

Plant by the month of May, after all danger of frost has passed and temperatures are consistently warm. Plant this beautiful specimen in a wide (24 - 48 inches or wider), shallow container using loam soil. Dig a trench in the soil and gently place your lotus tuber in the trench, cover all but the growth tips with an inch or two of soil, leaving the growth tips exposed. Add a few inches of water above the soil and place in a sunny location outdoors (8+ hours of sunlight daily). In a week or so you will have coin leaves growing on the surface of the water, DO NOT fertilize until you have at least two aerial leaves growing out of the water. (Wider containers help the plant to produce more blooms.)

Lotus Fertilizing Instructions

Fertilize monthly during the growing/blooming season (June through September) with 4-6 fertilizer tabs. Simply press the tabs gently into the soil around the roots of the lotus plant, being careful not to damage the roots of your lotus plant. We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs + Humates for optimum growth, best bloom and ease of use. Your lotus should grow and bloom the very first year!

Nope, not for Murphy the alligator hunter! 🐊🙄

Murphy, our 75 pound lab, loves to chew. We can’t give him anything soft or even anything remotely made for casual play as he chews them to pieces- literally. So when I saw this cute little alligator, with fairly good reviews, I bought it with high expectations. Nope. It didn’t have a chance- It’s in the garbage. ☹️ First I have to comment on the eyes. I don’t know what they are made of, but the “whites” of the eyes pealed off like paint within the first few minutes Murphy had it. He wasn’t even chewing at the eyes; they just pealed off. I can’t imagine that is good for dogs to ingest, but ok, I threw the white pieces away, and gave it back to him. I do have to say that he loved chewing on it- even without adding any kind of treat to it. So we watched him chew at it for about 30-40 minutes without it being dissected into a million different parts. I was impressed.... Until I took it away from him to be played with later.... during this time he was able to tear parts of the mouth (see pictures), and while all pieces are still in tact, I cannot imagine another 30 minutes of him having this in one piece. So, while I’m very aware that Murphy has limited toys to chew on, I will continue my search for indestructible toys for his chewing pleasure.

She was shredding pieces off the rubber with half hour of chewing it:( I thought it was very similar to the material of Kong toys?
