Adorned with an authentic turquoise gemstone, this 99.99% pure gold coin is the fifth release in the Royal Canadian Mint â„¢s Celebrating Canada â„¢s Diversity series. The design incorporates cultural elements from Ancient Persia to modern interpretations by an Iranian-Canadian artist. It features Eslimi patterns and Shah Abbasi flower motifs from traditional carpets, lotus flowers inspired by the reliefs of Persepolis, and stylized maple leaves symbolizing Canadian identity, with a paisley motif at the center. Together, these elements on the reverse create a harmonious and symbolic design, meant to inspire self-reflection, inner peace, and the transcendence of perceived limits. The reverse design by Canadian artist Soheila Esfahani features a turquoise gemstone surrounded by engraved patterns that celebrate the cultural heritage of Iranian Canadians, from today to those of Ancient Persia and beyond. While a paisley motif surrounds the gemstone centerpiece, a repeating maple leaf (symbolizing Canadian identity) and lotus flower (inspired by the reliefs of Persepolis) form a continuous circular pattern that also incorporates a Shah Abbasi floral motif and Eslimi patterns from traditional carpet designs. The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. The obverse also bears a special marking that includes four pearls symbolizing the four effigies that have graced Canadian coins throughout the reign of the Queen, as well as the double dates of her reign.
