Vinilisssimo present a reissue of Hareton Salvanini 's A Virgem de Saint Tropez, originally released in 1974. Polish film maker Zygmunt Sulistrowski pioneered the format of shooting low-budget soft porn on exotic locations. After a long list of previous works, in 1973 he directed the French-Brazilian production A Virgem de Saint Tropez, also known as "Magia Erotica"... Although the movie actually lacked magic, it did include every possible archetypical scene of the genre, and this combination of hot action in tropical surroundings, pleasant sights of Saint Tropez and frantic chases needed some proper background music. Brazilian arranger and writer Hareton Salvanini was commissioned to deliver this soundtrack and what a wonderful job he did - no wonder he is considered by many a lesser known Arthur Verocai. But instead of multiple layers of refined strings and delicate orchestral sounds, Salvanini creates a record full of groovy guitars and percussions that could rival with the best of KPM or Chappell library LPs. "Copacabana Rock" starts with with some psychedelic vibes and then evolves into a dancefloor bomb. "Saint Tropez" is a rhythmic flute and electric piano-laden track with wah-wah guitars a plenty. There is room for some heavy tropical drumming on "Perseguiçao" and "Seios". In need of some soft bossa with dabadaba vocals - Just check "Espairecendo", one of the most exquisite cuts on the album that sounds as if Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '66 had been produced by Verocai. While the jazzier and most experimental passages of the soundtrack belong to the wonderful "Sao Paulo". As well as it's original Brazilian version (Fermata, 1974), the soundtrack was also released in Italy in small quantities shortly after. Both pressings have become collector's items over the years, just like every other Salvanini recording: his only own album called S.P. 73 (1973), the mega rare EP he made for one of his brother's theater productions or the obscure soundtrack to the film Xavana, Uma Ilha do Amor (1981). Presented in facsimile artwork and pressed on 180 gram vinyl.

NOT WATERPROOF OR MACHINE WASHABLE

Until today, I would have given this bed 5 stars. When I was looking for a new pet bed, I searched for “waterproof” and “machine washable”. My bad for not verifying those attributes before purchasing as I have learned Amazon search results are not reliable.
Today one of my dogs peed on the floor and dragged his bed over it. When I discovered it, I wasn’t concerned because it is waterproof and machine washable. Uh, no it is not. The cushion was wet and was too big to adequately fit in my washer and I could tell the fabric wouldn’t hold up so I hand washed in the tub. But by this evening it was still pretty wet so I tossed it in the dryer on low - by itself - to get the damp out. Well, when I took it out, the cushion had ripped open.
Meanwhile, I put the cover in the washing machine. It washed okay, but the plastic part that helps the the opening stay open came out and broke. I cannot find a hole to attempt to put it back in.
I am really irritated that it isn’t better made.

Pug Loves His Bed

Great bed. I thought it might be too big for our pug but it is just right so he can choose whether he wants to be inside or outside of the little canopy. He didn’t go under for the first couple of months but now he loves going under the canopy especially on cold days.

Squishy and comfy
Very well made bed. Had I known about Amazon Basics brand sooner, I would have gotten two of these earlier. The other bed I purchased was a Snoozer XL and it arrived in a super compact state; the filler was even compressed and is therefore not as squishy and comfy as this Amazon Basics bed. The dog pictured is about 41 lbs, so it's perfect for her size (my other dog is a 70 lb pittie and he also fits on the bed).The 'hood' does detach, whereas the Snoozer one is permanently attached. Having the hood detach for washing the cover was another plus for this bed. The zippers are heavy duty and the 'sheepskin' is soft (I haven't washed the cover yet, so I don't know if it will pill). This bed arrived ready to use out of the box (very basic packaging); the filler was not compressed, so the bed is definitely more fluffy. This is the XL size and it is smaller than the Snoozer XL size but fits the corner of my room better. This is definitely worth the money.

I regret my purchase

A few things: 1) this bed is much smaller than you think. Even if you measure it the way it’s constructed makes the area under the flap super small.
2) my dogs, burrow under blankets, covers, everything. But they don’t burrow under this. It’s designed to be appealing to humans, but dogs don’t care for it.
3) you probably already read this another reviews, but the flap doesn’t really stay up at all. That wouldn’t be a problem for my dogs, but it may be for yours.
My recommendation – don’t buy this. It’s a gimmick. They make others with larger areas under the flap that are more expensive, but it’s worth the money instead of wasting it on this.
