The Tank Destroyer Type 2 (Ho-I) is one of the Japanese Army's combat vehicles during World War II,and was adopted by the military as a vehicle capable of fighting enemy tanks using anti-tank shaped charge "Ta" shells. It was built on a Type 1/Type 3 medium chassis equipped with a Type 99 7.5cm tank gun modified from a Type 41 mountain gun. Mass production began in 1944, with around 30 vehicles produced and deployed to units within mainland Japan.
