To many of us, the Earth's crust is a relic of ancient, unknowable history. But to a geologist, stones are richly illustrated narratives, telling gothic tales of cataclysm and reincarnation. For more than four billion years, in beach sand, granite, and garnet schists, the planet has kept a rich and idiosyncratic journal of its past. Fulbright Scholar Marcia Bjornerud takes the reader along on an eye-opening tour of Deep Time, explaining in elegant prose what we see and feel beneath our feet. Both scientist and storyteller, Bjornerud uses anecdotes and metaphors to remind us that our home is a living thing with lessons to teach. She shows how our planet has long maintained a delicate balance, and how the global give-and-take has sustained life on Earth through numerous upheavals. But with the rapidly escalating effects of human beings on their home planet, that cosmic balance is being threatened -- and the consequences may be catastrophic. Containing a glossary and detailed timescale, as well as vivid descriptions and historic accounts, Reading the Rocks is literally a history of the world, for all friends of the Earth.Binding Type: Paperback

Great Book for Men’s Group
Format: Hardcover
Our men’s group was looking for a great book to for our mid-week Bible Study and were excited to learn that Max Lucado had this book. God Never Gives Up on You has been perfect. Each chapter is easy to read while providing depth in thought. The best part is that each chapter is only about 10pgs (which seems to be a great number for our group). Great questions for group discussion at the end of the book too!

Great book
Format: Kindle
I enjoyed this book. Jacob was a good study. I learned that God can use me in spite of me.

Much Needed Message
Format: Kindle
Beyond the message, I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Jacob in the Book of Genesis. And I thoroughly enjoyed Pastor Max Lucado‘s take on the story, and how he made it come to life for me.
You will not be disappointed in this book, or it’s message,… I promise.

Very insightful
Format: Paperback
A very interesting way to break down the concepts of basic and/or sophisticated cybersecurity. In that retrospect, you come to see that all security measures are quite the same. The difference lies in the environment; one is a corporate office, the other is Feudal Japan. It's a good read
