#5 on Billboard Magazine's list of the Top Ten Music Books of 2018

New York, NY, January 1, 2019 - Celebrated music producer John Simon has produced some of the greatest rock 'n' roll ever recorded including The Band's Music From Big Pink, The Band, The Last Waltz; Janis Joplin's Cheap Thrills; Simon and Garfunkel's Bookends and the debut albums by Leonard Cohen and Blood, Sweat and Tears. His contributions to popular music have helped tell the story of a generation in the 1960s and 70s and now he is sharing his own.

"WHEN JOHN SIMON JOINED THE BAND'S BROTHERHOOD HE FIT LIKE A GLOVE. I CAN'T IMAGINE ANOTHER RECORD PRODUCER IN THE WHOLE WORLD WHO COULD'VE MATCHED JOHN'S WORK ON MUSIC FROM BIG PINK AND THE BAND."

Robbie Robertson

In writing TRUTH, LIES & HEARSAY, Simon has created an invaluable memoir of the music revolution of the 1960s and 70s With his truly unique perspective on music and the music business, he has drawn on a lifetime of personal experiences including:

. On-the-spot accounts of the recording sessions for Music From Big Pink and The Band's 2nd album

. How his life changed after making a hit record of a song by Paul Simon that Paul didn't even like

. Witnessing the volatile personal dynamics while making Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company featuring their brand-new vocalist, Janis Joplin

. Life in Woodstock, before the Festival, when it was just a small town safe-haven for musicians

. Behind-the-scenes at The Last Waltz

. Writing ballet scores for legendary choreographer, Twyla Tharp

. On the road with Blues Master, Taj Mahal

More Praise:

"John Simon has always been one of our most musical producers, a mix of musical and social skills. Part arranger, part psychiatrist, part instrumentalist, part pure music lover, part camp counselor."

John Sebastian

"Simon's role with The Band was particularly crucial, and some of the most fascinating portions in his book detail its creation. Throughout, Simon strikes a tone that's droll and engaging."

Jim Farber

"In the late 1960s, John Simon may have had the keenest ear of any record producer. He also had the most open heart, the most self-deprecating ego. That is why, moving on from the fellowship of the Band, he was able to make his way through the music business without accusations of betrayal, manipulation, and theft trailing behind him, and why he could write a book without a hint of rancor, complaint, whine or resentment... He tells his stories as if you could have been right there with him"

Greil Marcus

And First Reports From Readers:

  • "Imagine being stuck on the tarmac for six hours, you turn to the stranger next to you and he begins to tell you the most interesting tales you have ever heard... Time goes by and you never even realize it. That is this book. I couldn't put it down."
  • "I chuckled, smiled and laughed out loud. I liked it so much I bought 2 copies to give as gifts."

Worth the price an pretty good angles
Color: White, Size: without USB
So I decided to get this monitor arm because I was trying to go for an all white aesthetic and needed a arm to come in on time was a little skeptical because of the reviews but after using it, I love it. It’s super sturdy. The monitor arm is pretty high-quality. It uses mostly metal and the cable management is really good. I definitely recommend it.

Easy to use
Color: Black, Size: without USB
Easy to use and set up. The quality of the item seems to be there - sturdy enough to hold my 34” ultra wide Samsung monitor. Worth every cent with how easy it is to use and readjust the angle of the screen - I had to stiffen the resistance to account for the added weight of the monitor, but the fit and stability is spot on once the adjustment was made; just a few turns of the screw with the included Allen key

Great quality and price
Color: Black, Size: without USB
The arm needed some additional tightening, but it’s holding my 32 in monitor perfectly. Great stability and mobility. The cable organizer is a bit awkward, but works well enough. I’ll probably stick with this brand in the future; the cost vs quality is amazing.

Great stand for the price!
Size: Quad, Style: Glass Free Stand, Size: Quad, Style: Glass Free Stand
It is a great stand. I was able to put everything together myself. Just wanted to point out a couple of things here. I have 2, 27" flat montors and 2, 37" curved monitors. Now the description says it will go up to 27", but I was able to get the 37" ones on this stand also. You can put them side by side - they will fit, but make sure you don't go over the weight limit, so for mine, to be sure I didn't exceed the weight limit, I have the bottom of them sitting on the and foot of the frame itself. You will not be able to angle them inwards toward yourself if you have 37" curved monitors. This is what I was hoping to do I just needed an extra inch on each side to move them out, for now I will just leave them side by side. For assembly, because I was doing this by myself, I found it easiest to leave all the moveable parts loose and lay the monitors out on the floor face down in the position I wanted them in (NO CABLES). Then I took the mostly assembled frame and adjusted it to my monitors. I put the plates on the monitors and then slid the appropriate piece of the frame onto each plate, still leaving most parts slightly loose (giving myself just enough play to move things around when I stood it up). I then stood the frame up and firmed down all the fittings once I got everything where I wanted it. I then lifted the entire stand with monitors up onto my desk and then began plugging in all the cables and cords. I really like the stand and it is a great value for the price. It is very sturdy with my setup. I just wish it had about an extra inch on at least the bottom two arms, but overall, definitely a great stand. (sorry for the bad photo but these are my work monitors and I could not show what was on the screens)
