Design Details:
Designed by Canadian artist Curtis Atwater the reverse of the coin features a realistic and serene portrait of a towering iceberg drifting in the cold waters at the break of dawn. The use of soft pastel color overlays captures the moment when the rising sun gently illuminates the ice creating pink and gold reflections on the frozen surface. The water detailed with engraved ripples mirrors the pastel hues of the sky delivering a scene that evokes calmness and reverence.
The obverse displays the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Susanna Blunt offering a regal contrast to the raw untamed natural beauty on the reverse.
