While Bully's 2013 debut Feels Like tumbled headlong into the precarious nature of Alicia Bognanno's young adult life, it's follow-up Losing is their first for Sub Pop (which in many ways feels like their spiritual home; Bully's sound is an outgrowth of the bands the label championed in the late '80s and '90s). Losing is a document of the complexity of growth: navigating breakups with sensitivity, learning not to flee from your troubles but to face them down no matter how messy they may be ("Well, this isn't the summer I wanted," she muses on "Blame," before admitting that she's trying to "cut down on booze and you"). Written as the group slowed down from touring constantly and Bognanno attempted to adjust to how different a home schedule is from a road schedule, her songwriting has matured from the quick one-two punches of Feels Like to tracks that contemplate the necessity of space in both song structure and emotion. Bognanno's gruff yet dynamic voice is allowed to bloom, and it has a tenderness and openness to it here that's new. There are multiple layers of wistfulness and care to her delivery of lines like "It just takes one disagreement for you to remember the one time I fucked up," from "Spiral," turning songs that could be one-dimensional kiss-offs into warm and complex expressions of regret.

Great for classroom organization

These shelves are perfect for organizing my classroom library. The cubes are a little smaller than I expected, so they don’t fit larger picture books well. I was able to make it work by using bins inside the cubes and slanting the bigger books, but just know it’s best for regular-sized books. Since they’re a bit shorter, I stacked two together and it gave me the height I needed.
Overall, they look great, were easy to set up, and hold a lot of books in an organized way. My students can easily find what they need, and I really like the clean, simple style.

Great for the Price

I needed a cheap little bookshelf for this small play area. The shelf was relatively easy to assemble by myself, and it's sturdy enough to stand on carpeted flooring. I didn't bother installing the safety wall mount because I live in a rental and I can't screw things into the walls. The bookshelf is too small for standard storage cubes, so I purchased a couple of 9-inch cubes from the Dollar Tree and they fit just fine. I might rearrange the contents later.

Okay small bookshelf

Glad I got this on a sale for our nursery. I don’t expect it to be that durable but it will be great for kid books and toys.
Instructions are pictures only and a little overwhelming with all the lines, basically alternate shelves on either side from the middle and you’ll be fine and make sure your painted edges all face the same way.
Quality isn’t the best as it split when screwing in and it wasn’t even in all the way, we were being careful but we flipped that part out of sight. The back is a flimsy board you nail in, wish it was another piece of particle board like the shelves to add stability. At least it has an anti tip strap but I’d get a better quality anti tip strap anyways.
Upon assembly we were missing screws. Didn’t think we would need to count so many to make sure but I didn’t want to repack and return, luckily we have extra screws around the house.
Pros: good for kids room, came with anti tip strap, came with screw stickers to cover, simple build
Cons: could be better quality for (full) price, back flimsy board, missing screws, instructions could be better, not enough screw stickers to cover even just the outside…
Overall an okay small bookshelf.
