Oxford Diecast 1964 Ford Country Station Wagon Squire Vintage Burgundy 1:87The standard four door Ford Country Station Wagon of 1964, the subject of the Oxford tooling, represented the fourth generation on the vehicle and was highly popular for its power and performance and built to a more modest standard compared with its predecessors. For its third Oxford outing, it appears as the Squire variation which in real life came in a few different colour schemes from the standard models in that it had wood panelling on the sides

The standard  four-door Ford Country Station Wagon of 1964, the subject of the Oxford tooling,  represented the fourth generation on the vehicle and was highly popular for its power and performance and built  to a more modest standard compared with its predecessors.

For its third Oxford outing, it appears as the ‘Squire’ variation which in real life came in a few different colour schemes from the standard models in that it had wood panelling on the sides and rear.

The basic dark burgundy body features extensive chromework including wheels, grille surround and the grille itself which has a wiped black finish. However it is the panelling that attracts attention with nut brown and chocolate brown paint being expertly applied to achieve the grained wood effect, all encased in a manilla colour printed surround which extends round the rear of the wagon as well.  The chrome Country Squire ‘signature’ features in the panelwork behind the rear passenger doors and again in the panelled area across the back. The station wagon interior has cream seats, dashboard and steering wheel. It is registered in the Canadian state of Manitoba in 1964 as HS 476. We love the bison figure on the number plate!  A possible close encounter on the road, perhaps!
