The IEC Optical Bench is a low-cost but very useful optical system that permits experiments in reflection, refraction, lenses and the creation of images. The bench is 1.5m long with an adjustable metric scale. The comprehensive kit of parts includes convex and concave lenses, targets, large prism, prism table, various photographic slides, a white screen and sliding supports for components.

The Optical Bench Simple Type is designed to be used with the Hodson Light Box as the light source and the lens and prism blocks from the Light Box kit can be used on the Optical Bench. The study of colours and shadows is performed from the mirror end of the light box and the study of light rays and the creation of images is performed from the front end of the light box. 

Kit Includes: 

• 1 x Aluminum Bench, 1.2M long with 1M scale fitted
• 1 x Plastic pillar to clamp to bench to support light source
• 1 x Platform (tapered shape) to support Hodson Light Box (presses tightly over plastic pillar clamped to bench)
• 3 x Tubular supports with circular clips for 50mm dia. lenses and mirrors (accepts circular lens/mirrors
• 4 x Tubular supports used for holding square plates and cards etc.
• 1 set Prism table, circular, with tubular support
• 4 x Square plates with center hole for lenses and devices
• 1 x White card screen
• 1 x Photographic slide of a 3mm dia. hole
• 1 x Photographic slide of a 5mm dia. hole
• 1 x Photographic slide of an 8mm dia. hole
