"Supergirl's Choice of Doom!"  Published by DC Comics in 1964. 

 

 The cover is reflects light well with about 55% to 60% of original gloss, though it has a stain (to the top and right of Superman's head) and some light creasing generally at the edges.  A color breaking extending diagonally from the bottom of the top staple on a line about a 1/2 to the left and perpendicular to the "A" in Action Comics.  A few spots of wear to the right of the "n" in Action in the logo box.  Some small color breaking creases near the bottom right corner.  A number of small spine stress marks which don't interfer significantly with the cover.  Light soiling on the front cover.  Some wear at midway and up on the spine line and the line only slightly askew.  Interior pages are off-white to maybe a light tan at the edges, and are wonderfully supple.  The staples are well placed and the cover is well cut with the color extending to the spine.  The cover is attached to the staples.  The edges are nice.  The corners are squarish.  The book lies relatively flat.  Overall a pretty book.

 

Comic Grading - Definition of a Crease.
     
Crease - A fold which causes ink removal, usually resulting in a white line.  This seems to be the sense of what a crease is to Overstreet's Grading Guidelines and most comic graders.  We note two categories of creasing in our descriptions, 1) color breaking and 2) non-color breaking. 
 
For a color breaking crease, it must show that white line, though of course the thickness, length, and cover location of the crease are all important factors in how severely the crease actually degrades the cover's impact.
 
A non-color breaking crease is technically not a crease since it doesn't break color, but to those of us who have spent hours obsessing over our books, it is an interruption in the gloss or how the cover reflects light.  Take a smooth unblemished white sheet of paper and press your thumb nail into it several times using varying amounts of pressure.  As the paper is white there is no break in color, but depending on lighting and its angle to the paper eventually you would be able to see every point where the nail impressed the paper.  Again the noticeability, number, and locations of non-color breaking creases are factors affecting the quality of the cover.
 
If a cover is generally smooth, this means the non-color breaking creases present are interfering little with the cover's appearance.  These kinds of creases range from unnoticeable in normal viewing conditions to very intrusive.  A comic must be very carefully handled to avoid leaving these impressions at the edges.
 
Unfortunately, scans of the covers, even the SuperSize Images I employ, do not always fully depict these imperfections.  I try to fill in the gaps by offering my estimate of what the Overstreet Grade would likely be, and by giving a detailed written description. 
 
Like most comic buyers and graders we have exchanged thoughts with, we agree that Overstreet Grading Guidelines provide a helpful starting point to access a book's quality, but we all have our own tastes and biases, and sharp disagreements on various books as well as complaints about Overstreet's approach.  Different books will impress you differently than they would us, which is why we try to be detailed and factual.  We are merely trying to provide buyers with enough background so the book received satisfies or exceeds the expectations generated by our listing.

Tips broke in the binding post

UPDATE: Two tips broke off when unplugging them from the binding post and are now lodged in. Inexcusable and an utterly poor product. Solid connection in the binding post with no wobble or wiggle. They require some force to insert into the binding post, but once they're in they remain snug. I also tried removing and reinserting a few times and the connection remained solid. I've used other plugs in the past that have a softer tip and easily deform after one or two insertions. These do not have that issue.

Does the job, easy use, a bit bulky not exactly as described

Bare wire can be intolerable to work with. Banana plugs make a positive secure connection. These plugs are a touch bulky. Nice to not have to deal with small screws. Use as large of gauge wire as possible. The description says no unintentional disconnections. I beg to differ the bite of teeth aren’t as good as described. Used a 16 gauge pure copper speaker wire and a teenager taught me how secure the wire really is by tugging on the wire not the banana plug pulling the wire free. It does the job, it’s not the latest and greatest. If you need easy get these. If you want slim secure banana plugs buy the small screw type.
