Chasing is one of the oldest surviving silversmithing skills still practised today, where the silversmith, using special tools, moves the silver to create a 3-dimensional design. This is a different method from engraving, where silver is removed to make a pattern. The use of these rare hand skills ensures each piece is unique as each hand stroke will be very slightly different. The full-size Cock Pheasant stands at 30cm tall, 70cm long from beak to tail, weighing an impressive 3,200g of hallmarked sterling silver, and partially gilted."
