The Story
Erdener Treppchen is one of those Mosel vineyards that tells its own story. The name means “the little staircase”, a nod to the old stone steps built into the steep hillside so growers could reach the vines. Its red slate soils give the wines more weight and power than some other Mosel sites, while still keeping that signature crackle of freshness. In Spätlese form, it is a brilliant expression of what the region does so well – sweetness, fruit and tension all moving together rather than fighting for attention.
