The antique-style medal is inspired by the Sacred Heart iconography that has been an official symbol of love and devotion to the Catholic faith since Pope Innocent VI recognized it in the 14th century. The letter “M” signifies the Blessed Virgin Mary at the foot of the Cross when Jesus was being crucified.
