This appearance of unanimity does grave disservice to the heterogeneity of Jewish thought, and to the centuries-old Jewish traditions of lively dispute and rigorous, unapologetic skeptical inquiry. Wrestling with Zion brings together prominent poets, essayists, journalists, activists, academics, novelists, and playwrights, representing the diversity of opinion in the progressive Jewish-American community regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. All the participants share three things: a Jewish identity, an American identity, and a sense of urgency, refusing to ignore the catastrophic injustice that has been visited upon the Palestinian people, while at the same time being passionately committed to Jewish survival and American legacies of compassion and moral courage. Highly recommend!

It’s almost November and I told my husband that I don’t want to get to the end of this devotional book. I may repeat it in 2026. It’s the best I’ve ever had and the only one I have ever continued through this whole year. I have texted screen shots a few times to share her words and scripture to someone in my family. (Hope that”s legal.) I always get a positive response thanking me. My granddaughter now has this book also.

Best thing I purchased on Amazon thus far!

Going into my second year with this devotional and it is my absolute favorite! I’ve bought plenty devotionals over the years. I love how this one is not marked by the year so all I have to do is look at what day it is and read! Each page is filled with such a thoughtful word and scripture to back up her amazing wisdom! I’ve sent pages to my mom & sister to read. I read them to my kids and husband sometimes. They love it!! I had to come back and give my review bc I need everyone to know just how much I love this devotional. My only wish is that I could be more consistent with each day. But I do love that EVERYTIME I need it, it’s there ready for me to pick up. It’s perfect!! I’ve been struggling for years to figure out how to connect more with God on a regular basis. I am truly grateful for Joyce! My father raised me on her sermons & teachings and I will forever be thankful! This book is a GEM! God bless ❤️

This devotional is exactly what I needed on a day to day bases. It provides scriptures and references for the specific devotional. Very relatable and leaves me feeling refreshed. I also bought it as a baptism gift for a good friend of mine.
