It goes through many events of national importance during that time period, from the Japanese colonial occupation and the anti-Japanese resistance, to liberation thanks to the Korean people's guerilla warfare and the world anti-fascist war bringing about the surrender of Japan, to the struggle and victory against aggressive U.S. imperialism in the Fatherland Liberation War, to the building up of a modern socialist society in the northern half, to the great efforts for peaceful reunification, etc. All through these events, the personality of Comrade Kim Il Sung shines as the guiding light of the Korean nation, as the genuine expression of their aspirations for freedom, independence, reunification and socialism. With Comrade Kim Il Sung's Juche idea -- which states that man, making revolution, becomes the master of everything -- the Korean people are equipped to solve the problems of today and carry on their path in spite of world retrogression, tighten their ranks around the immortal leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea and build socialism and communism, as they are doing.
