In evocative photography and elegant prose, Altamaha captures the distinctive beauty of this river and offers a portrait of the man who has become its improbable guardian.
Few people know the Altamaha better than James Holland. Raised in Cochran, Georgia, Holland spent years on the river fishing, hunting, and working its coastal reaches as a commercial crabber. Witnessing a steady decline in blue crab stocks, Holland doggedly began to educate himself on the area's environmental and political issues, reaching a deep conviction that the only way to preserve the way of life he loved was to protect the river and its watershed. In 1999, he began serving as the first Altamaha Riverkeeper, finding new purpose in protecting the river and raising awareness about its plight with people in his community and beyond. At first Holland used photography to document pollution and abuse, but as he came to appreciate and understand the Altamaha in new ways, his photographs evolved, focusing more on the natural beauty he fought to save. More than 230 color photographs capture the area's majestic landscapes and stunning natural diversity, including a generous selection of some the 234 species of rare plants and animals in the region. Claim was easy, speedy, and Amazon gift card was applied almost immediately.
I had to make a claim for a Ninja blender that was emitting an odor of burning or melting wires. I called a service representative thinking I might encounter a problem and was surprised. The agent was helpful and made the entire process so easy I applaud her! The Amazon gift card was posted to my account almost immediately after UPS picked the product up. I have decided that for products with a large number of parts and electronics that can fail I will purchase Asurion protection.

Asurion "Assures" nothing!
Asurion has terrible Customer Support. All machine based. They give you no phone # for human interaction. Their online Support process is very close-ended. It is a checklist designed to frustrate purchasers whose issue lies outside only the very issue.
My issue: I bought "Cuisinart TOB-40FR Custom Classic Toaster Oven Broiler, Silver (Renewed)" on May 26, 2024. It stated it had a 90 day warranty. So I bought an Asurion Protection Plan also to cover it for 3 years. The toaster started flaking off metal finish inside the oven over the cooking area. I tried to file a claim with Asurion and they told me the Manufacturers warranty was still in effect and I should contact Cuisinart. This despite the oven was sold with a Amazon Renewed verbiage stating a 90 day warranty.
And they have nothing on their "Machine Checklist" to cover this eventuality. And I would assume I am not the only one who takes the "Renewed" route and backs it up with a "Protection Plan".
They will frustrate you no end. I suspect, like many insurances, they seek to deny, deny, deny, in hopes the purchaser will give up.

GIFT CARD AS REPLACEMENT, NO CHOICE OF CHECK OR REPLACEMENT. GOOD COMPANY
PROS:
* A decent company, responsive and fair.
* Allows you to buy items from anywhere you want, and buy the warranty at Amazon.
* Provides better coverage than other warranties, and covers more, including breakage!
CON:
They don't send you a check in order to buy wherever you want, send a replacement, or give you a choice. Instead, they send you an Amazon Gift Card. That's OK if you're a big Amazon shopper, but sometimes, you can get a better price elsewhere.
