Hugh Stuart Menzies (1886—1959) was a British advertising executive. Born in London, in 1922 he set up the Stuart Advertising Agency that worked with contemporary artists of the time such as Edward Bawden, Edward McKnight Kauffer, Ben Nicholson, and Barbara Hepworth. Menzies initially worked for Fortnum & Mason running their Invalid Delicasies Food Department before becoming a copywriter and producing the Commentaries for Fortnum & Mason - a new style of direct mail booklets illustrated by W Hendy, Menzies and Edward Bawden. The Stuart Advertising Agency were commissioned to design the logo of Imperial Airways and some of the Shell on the Road publicity for Shell-Mex & BP. Menzies's business partner, Marcus Brumwell, headed the firm when Menzies retired around 1938-9. Menzies moved with his wife, Elizabeth to Tahiti and later settled in Canada. He died in December 1959 whilst on a cruise near Gibraltar.

Hugh Stuart Menzies established the Stuart Advertising Agency and worked with many famous artists such as Edward Bawden and Barbara Hepworth. Interestingly, initially, he worked for Fortnum and Mason running the Invalid Food Delicacies Deptartment. This experience must have been very useful when he wrote the Commentaries. W.M Hendy was an illustrator for Punch.

Good, not perfect
I do like that this is safer for the environment. And it goes on just fine. Not greasy or anything. If you only use a little and rub well, your skin doesn't turn a ghostly white. Does great and I never have to reapply even after being outside sweating in heat and humidity all day. BUT, for some reason this is the only sunscreen I've ever used that has left a black ring around my finger where my wedding band sits. I've used a ton of sunscreens and I'm not sure why this one does it, but it's super annoying.

Does not work
This product does not work very well. Also does not rub in easy and takes several days to get it off of you.

Caribbean approved sunscreen
we bought this sunscreen due to the fact that the Caribbean doesn’t allow other sunscreens that are not Reef safe. I’m usually not a fan of mineral sunscreen due to the fact that it leaves a white residue. This sunscreen still leaves a white residue, but it is a very minor white residue. It worked well for the pool on our cruise ship and for the ocean. I didn’t have to reapply as often as I thought I would have for a mineral sunscreen. I don’t know if I still feel that the product was worth the price/amount, but I was overall satisfied with the Protection it gave us.
