St. Ephraim was born on 14 September 1384 in Trikala, Thessalia. At 14 years of age he went to a monastery on the mountain of Amoman near Nea Makri in Attica. For nearly twenty-seven years he imitated the life of the great Fathers and ascetics of the desert purifying himself. On September 14, 1425, the Turks destroyed the monastery.

Many of the monks were tortured and beheaded, but St Ephraim remained calm and survived the onslaught. They locked him in a small cell without food or water, and beat him every day. After months of torture they decided to put him to death. They turned him upside down and tied him to a mulberry tree, then beat him and mocked him. One of them took a flaming stick and plunged it violently into the saint's navel. He lapsed into unconsciousness. But they did not stop and continued to kick and beat him. After a while, the saint opened his eyes and prayed, "Lord, I give up my spirit to Thee."

About nine o'clock in the morning, the martyr's soul was separated from his body. 500 years later a women's monastery sprung up on the site of the old monastery. The Abbess of this new monastery heard an inner voice telling her to dig in a certain spot. Here they unearthed the head of the saint and an ineffable fragrance filled the air.u00a0She cleaned the bones and placed them in the altar area of the church. That night St Ephraim appeared to the abbess in a dream and thanked her for caring for his relics, and then said, "My name is St Ephraim." He told her the story of his life and martyrdom.

My Dog Loves It, But Be Careful
My dog absolutely loves the Benebone Wishbone Chew Toy—he gets so excited every time I bring it out. It’s clearly made for aggressive chewers and is very durable, but he often ends up hurting his teeth while chewing on it. I wish it were a bit gentler on his mouth. Great for keeping dogs entertained, just watch out if your pup has sensitive teeth.

My dogs LOVE these over the leading brand!
My dogs LOVE these chew bones! They will chew on these things for 30 minutes straight. They will dig them out from the dog basket, or whine at the door if they left it outside. I ended up having to get all 4 of my dogs each their own it was so popular. The white bone in the picture is the from the leading brand and you can see which one they go for, lol. They've had these bones for 6 weeks now and chew on them daily, and multiple times throughout the day. If your dog is a chewed or puppy, definitely give these a try!

Terrific! Much easier to use than Kongs and my dog loves it.
Flavor Name: Peanut Butter, Size: Medium
I like these so much better than the original Kongs. The large opening makes it so much easier to put peanut butter or cream cheese into it. Plus much easier to clean out afterwards. My dog also likes to chew it and play with it throwing it in the air after he’s done eating the peanut butter. Very sturdy - he chews apart stuffed toys but his chewing hasn’t damaged this at all. I highly recommend this product!

Great for strong chewing dogs. Entertaining too!
Flavor Name: Peanut Butter, Size: Medium
My black lab can destroy the toughest of dog chew toys, but he's not destroyed this peanut. I fill it with peanut butter, yogurt, pumpkin or apple sauce and freeze it. It keeps him entertained for quite a while. When the filling is gone, he leaves it alone or carries it around begging for a filled one.

Super cute! If you have one dog it'll last a while. If you have more than one...buy two.
Flavor Name: Marshmallow & Peanut Butter, Size: Large
This is THE FAVORITE chew toy in our household. We have two grown labs and a 10 month old mutt and they all love this toy. They got a variety of chew toys at Christmas and this is the one that they steal from each other. That said, they've definitely managed to kill it. It's well worth the money and it's held up well to heavy chewers but four months later and we're going to have to buy a new one. It's now a stub. They managed to break off all the marshmallows about a week ago and the stick itself is more like a chunk now but we definitely got our money's worth.
