Little (i) Music is pleased to announce the release of the second recording by the Shakers N' Bakers, a group which reinterprets traditional Shaker "Vision" songs which were received in states of inspiration by members of the Shaker religious sect during the period of Mother Ann's work ( 1837-50 ). These songs are reinterpreted through the lens of contemporary creative improvised music. The recording is a followup to the group's first eponymous CD which was described as "some of the most powerful and amazing stuff I have heard in the 21st century" in jazzreview.com. The new recording called YFZ (yearing for zion) revisits the repetoire of Shaker vision songs while also expanding the group's range into the territory of reinterpretation of contemporary music scores by John Adams, Gyorg Ligeti and Arvo Part. The title of the recording references the YFZ ranch of fundamentalist Mormons which was in the news this spring when they were unlawfully raided by Texas State Troopers - While there is no historical connection between Shaker and Mormon movements, this recording highlights the radicalism of the Shaker millennial worldview in action and reminds us that there is still the possibility of alternative devotional lifestyles in America today. The Shakers N' Bakers are led by saxophonist Jeff Lederer and include Mary LaRose and Miles Griffith on vocals, Jamie Saft on electric harpsichord, Chris Lightcap on bass and Allison Miller on drums. YFZ also features guest appearances by Mark Feldman on violin, Matt Wilson on drums and Andrew D'Angelo on bass clarinet and alto saxophone.

Thank You Qiiiiian For Creating Such a Touch & Resilient Dog Toy

This Qiiiiiian Squeaky Dog Toy is AMAZING!! My Heeler Maggie, goes through toys like water through a sieve. She either hates it and ignores it or loves it to pieces, literally. She tears her toys apart to get the squeaker out and then it ends up in the garbage. This toy has been with her now for over 2 weeks!! That is a record in this house, no other toy has ever survived this long! This large platypus toy is made from very durable materials. It is very well made and stitched securely showing no weakness. Filled with crinkle paper inside, and so far she hasn't torn it open, so I'm still so amazed by this! Talk about tough. Heeler may not have the hardest bite force but they sure are stubborn and one they decide that they are toy destroyers, good luck to any toy that arrives here, except for this platypus toy by Qiiiiian. She has almost given up, and now just sleeps with it, which I must admit, it's absolutely adorable. I never knew she had a soft & gentle side. This toy is priced much lower than expected for the quality and durability. Yes, I've ordered 4 more for friends and family, and one for her, just in case. At prices like this, toy cannot go wrong for such a large durable, well made dog toy that is both chew-resistent and Heller Proof!

I'd buy again

My dog loves this. The legs are curled in and stretch a good distance making it perfect for her playing by herself or playing tug of war! So far it's been pretty sturdy but I've only had it a week. My dog is a yellow lab and the size has been good for her

Over all a great toy!

This is a nice functional toy that doesn’t cost a whole lot. My dog has played many times with my husband: fetch, tug and just chewing on this reindeer. It also has several textures for him: smooth felt antlers and nose, rougher feet and hands( filled with squeakers, bumpy skin and its arms and legs can be pulled through the body.
Just a great toy to be interactive and it can be machine washed.
It is one I would buy again!

My dog loves it

My dog loves this toy. It's the only toy I've seen her excited about. The only setback is that the squeaker only lasted for a few minutes. It is very well made. It is adorable.
