In this fascinating memoir, first published as a book in 1907, the author recalls the remarkable story of his journey westward as a young man to the Montana Territory. Traveling in the days before railroads crossed the continent, he sought wild life and adventure and found both among the Piegan Blackfeet.
As a welcome guest of the Indians, J. W. Schultz took part in almost every aspect of tribal life, enabling him to write vivid and dramatic descriptions of buffalo hunts, war parties, daring raids on enemy quarters, and other adventures; but he also paints a detailed picture of the quieter side of life in the vast encampments of lodges that dotted the plains: religious ceremonies and customs, child-rearing, food preparation, burial practices, tales told around the campfire, and much else.
The author's sensitive commentary testifies to his deep love and affection for the people with whom he lived, among them N t-ah'-ki, the young and beautiful Blackfoot girl who became his wife; Ashton, an Easterner with a secret sorrow; Diana, an orphaned Indian girl, who, as Ashton's loving ward, received a proper education but met a tragic death; and Berry, a tall, fearless Indian trader of mixed blood who became the author's long-time friend.
Spanning a period in American history that saw the Indian way of life dwindle to near extinction, this extraordinary firsthand account of a white man's experiences in the word of the Plains Indian will not only captivate general readers but will also appeal to ethnologists and students of Native American life and culture. A new Introduction by Hugh A. Dempsey, Chief Curator Emeritus, Glenbow Museum, Calgary, Alberta, provides biographical information on the author and traces the book's publishing history and cultural impact.

Got this for me and my 5 year old fur Halloween and loved it!! We sprayed it in our hair, on our skin. It was so much fun. It reminded me of the old 80’s glitter hair spray but so so so much more awesome! Get it. Sparkle & shine all over all day and all night *dreamy*

Waste of money
Color: Orange
So much for indestructible, it wasn’t in my home five minutes before the leg came off. No exaggeration! Dixy had the toy in her mouth and I reached up to wiggle it and the leg came off in my hand and no Dixy wasn’t pulling away. I only purchased this toy because it claimed to be indestructible. After shipping and handling it cost me $30. I justified the cost because I thought it would be worth it for Dixy to have a toy that would last. Isn’t that the impression you get by the discrimination “indestructible” To add insult to injury this company sent a second one for another $30 and it really ticks me off that the product discrimination on even the return label still describes it as an indestructible plush dog toy. Please don’t waste your money this not as advertised. There’s nothing about this product to justify the outrageous expense for a toy that didn’t last five minutes.

Scam
Color: Brown+Blue, Color: Brown+Blue
Zero stars! What a disgrace. I waited weeks due to the delivery date changing after I placed the order. Then the shipping went up and cost more than the toy. It lasted 5 mins after opening, and it's head fell off. It was not even sewn on. So much for indestructible!!! Then when I returned, they sent a auto comment asking if I would keep it and take a 50% refund. No freaking way!! I'm so irritated right now.

This is not even chew resistant!!
Color: Brown
If there was an option for ZERO stars that would be this. Within 5 minutes my little 11 pound Havanese had all the ears off, then out came the stuffing. He had the little dog, and a green duck. I had to take the duck away to sew it….then he still had studding everywhere…and that was the little dog. Throwing stuffing and pieces away….I should have put these right back in the bags they came in. In no way ate these even chew “resistant “!!!! Probably just look good onna shelf.👎👎
