Through no fault of her own Smokey was passed through several homes before finalling settling with the Adams family.

Through volunteering to help promote welfare messages for her local branch of Cats Protection, her loud purring talent was discovered by the media and led to her entry in the 2011 Guinness Book of World Records.

Now Smokey tells the story of her rise to fame in her own words, with the help of owner Ruth Adams of course. Touching and light hearted, if you're not a cat lover already, you're guaranteed to be one after reading this extraordinary tale.

About the Human Author

Ruth Adams was born in a village in Derbyshire, and studied art at Aberystwyth and the Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design. Ruth and her family share their farm home with many animals, including ponies, goats, hens, bullocks, dogs, cats & fish

Smokey is a bit woolly on the details of her previous seven homes, so the story is part fact and part fiction. The two big facts are: Smokey is officially the world record holder for Loudest Purring Cat and the home would not be the same without Smokey.

The handle is very pleasant to hold too, as it has a soft silicon-like material along the handle, and feels very sturdy and thick. The other issue I keep having is my lid gets stuck and becomes hard for me to open sometimes. I have a bad thumb and wrist so often I have to have my spouse open it for me. It keeps my water cold all day. If I put ice in before I go to sleep it’s still cold in the morning. I love these cups and would recommend them to anyone looking to drink more water. If you like your water bottle you will drink more water and want to bring it with you.
