Briny aromas of oyster shell, chalk, lemon curd and lime segue to the rich palate that offers a pleasing tension between Meyer lemon fruit and its strong core of chalky minerality. Guy Robin’s Montée de Tonnerre runs circles around most other Chablis in the sub $125 range and offers one of the few remaining classic old-school Chablis still available but 2023 is the end of the line, so don’t pass it up.
