The Embers of Time is one of the finest collections in a celebrated career that's earned Josh Rouse plaudits everywhere from the NY Times to NPR. Hailed for his "sharp wit" by Rolling Stone and as "a talent to outrank Ryan Adams or Conor Oberst" byUncut, Rouse has long since solidified his status as a songwriter of the highest caliber over his ten preceding studio releases, but as he navigated the unfamiliar terrain of his forties while writing The Embers of Time, he found himself facing difficult questions. Album opener "Some Days I'm Golden All Night" finds comfort in accepting that there are no easy answers. The album's laidback, countrypolitan vibe - captured in part in Rouse's studio in Valencia and in part in his former American home base of Nashville with producer Brad Jones - continues on "Too Many Things On My Mind," which was inspired by economist E.F. Schumacher's book Small Is Beautiful. Simplification is a recurring theme on the album, as the pedal steel and harmonica drenched "New Young" finds Rouse "making plans to move out to the country," and "Crystal Falls" is propelled by uncomplicated rhythm from an unexpected source. "I didn't want the record to come off as overly serious, so it was important to me that songs like this have a sense of humor to them." That sense of humor sustains Rouse as he faces down some of life's biggest questions on this record with grace and humility. "Am I a hunter or a fox?" he sings on "Pheasant Feather". 'The Embers Of Time' suggests that Rouse has discovered he may never know the answer, and that's just fine.

If only it lasted!
Loved it - until it stopped working after 6m. I used it for matcha and collagen powders. Purchased specifically because it was a small company. Very effective, also very short lived.

The VERY BEST frother!
This will be the only frother I will buy for the rest of my life! It has amazing power, 2 speed settings, a double whisk, and a case to protect the whisk!!! Thos are so many features that by far shouldve made this frother so much more expensive. I use this everyday for 2 things; to make cold foam for my coffee and I love making shaken espressos at home but the noise of shaking the coffee and ice wake up my small children which is absolutely unforgivable so I use this frother instead and its amazing. If all the things previously mentioned werent enough let this next part convince you; my frother wasnt working properly a few morning ago, it was a little less powerful than usual and so I send a message to the seller and they sent me a new one no questions asked!!!! OMG i had never had such a pleasant experience like that, i was shocked they have raised the bar for me for what I should expect customer service to be. I received my new one superfast only took 2 days I was amazed !!! The only frother I will ever continue to buy !!!!!

Great product even if it dies in a little over a year.
I bought this in May 2023 and it's July 2024. I went on a trip for 6 days and when I came back, it wouldn't turn on. It could possibly be because I've used it every day and suddenly stopped. Either way, I'm disappointed in the longevity of this product. For the price I expected more, but nothing is made to last any more. That being said, I love the design and rechargeable aspect. The cap is awesome for storage and clean up is super easy. This little machine packs a punch as long as you have enough liquid. I've never had issues with lumps or performance in general. I will purchase this product again to see if it was just a fluke.

Bigger/sturdier than expected = good and bad. Recharging cable is USB to USB-C. Need old style brick
I like the design in that it comes with a cover that shields the wand in my utensil drawer but its a bit bigger than expected. So its a plus that its sturdier but a minus that it takes up more space. The USB-C cable is USB to USB-C and not USB-C to USB-C so I had to go fishing for an old brick. Am hoping it doesn't need to charge often. The indicator shows its plugged in but not whether charged.
