LP+CD version. Pressed on 180-gram vinyl. Limited to 999 copies worldwide. Lincoln Valentine Style Scott was murdered in his house in Manchester, Jamaica. He was 58 years old. The work on Hard Food, the first album released by his Dub Syndicate since No Bed of Roses in 2004, had just been completed. Dub Syndicate's first studio album in 11 years, an event that was to be a joyous celebration with friends, has now become Style Scott's legacy. Born in the parish of Clarendon, Jamaica, from the end of the 1970s on, Style Scott emerged as one of the most high-profile and style-defining drummers of his time. Together with Errol "Flabba" Holt, he formed the rhythmic backbone of Roots Radics, whose riddim songs, including John Holt's "Police in Helicopter" and Gregory Isaacs "Night Nurse," attained the status of classics. Style Scott launched a parallel career in England at the beginning of the '80s as the drummer in Adrian Sherwood's innovative dub studio/laboratory On-U Sound, where his incomparable drumming set the stage for songs by Prince Far-I, Creation Rebel and Singers & Players. Alongside all these projects, Style's very own baby was Dub Syndicate, his "British Roots Radics" with whom he recorded more than 20 albums between 1982 and the present. In this project, Style's riddims fused with On-U-Sound's signature style and the music and vocals of African Head Charge, Akabu, Mikey Dread and Jeb Loy Nichols. With Adrian Sherwood as the mix master and - who else - "Flabba" Holt on bass, Dub Syndicate explored abstract dub's paces and lush psychedelic landscapes, teamed up with the poetry of the arch dub-Dadaist Lee "Scratch" Perry, with Dr. Pablo and his melodica and brought rewinds to the dancehall with Capleton. It became a tradition for Style Scott to record the riddims in Jamaica with Flabba Holt and then add overdubs and mix the tracks in London with Adrian Sherwood. And that is precisely how the present album, which has tragically become his farewell, was recorded: Lee Perry mumbles his unmistakable incantations on "Jah Wise" in a dialogue with Sangie from the Wailers' circle. Other vocal highlights include Style's old brother-in-arms, Bunny Wailer and DJ legend U-Roy, who over Style and Flabba's legendary "Police in Helicopter" riddim admits "Dub Is All I Got." And then there's Magma, who impishly warns the ladies "Love Is Coming at You." the instrumentals on Hard Food are equally delectable: In the opening track "Sound Collision," weird synth sounds and ricocheting echoes literally collide with Dub Syndicate's trademark sound; "Gypsy Magic" is characterized by the sound of a violin, Ivan "Celloman" Hussey's riff drives the equally melodious "Addis Ababa" and the album closes with three instrumental versions from Adrian Sherwood's studio, which supplied all the dubs and overdubs. With Style Scott the reggae world, and indeed the entire world, has lost one of it's best drummers.

Beyond my expectations…
Scent: Incredible 10/10. The entire shower smells like a spa afterwards. Woody notes, vanilla scent is deliciously heavy and warm, and even one pump delivers a punch of fresh vanilla scent to your entire body. I’m a woman who is in love with heavy earthy scents and this is it!
P.S it also matches well with scents like vanilla, cocoa butter, chocolate, or even delicious “smore” scents! I pair it with vanilla and cocoa butter scented deodorant, vanilla perfume, or vanilla body lotion and it works amazing!
Longevity: Lasts the entire day if I’m staying home just relaxing, not working out or sweating very much. I could shower in the early morning and by the time my head hits the pillow I still smell it faintly!
If I’m out and about it still lasts hours I’d estimate around 6-8 hours before the scent fades! If I shower at 6am, come home at 5pm-6pm after work I still smell fresh! (I always shower 2x a day but you don’t even need to with this!
Value for Money/Size: Oh absolutely! I think I bought this soap two weeks ago? Used it nearly every day, and you can’t even tell! One pump is enough, two pumps MAX per shower per day.
I decided to lavish myself by buying this soap, because it’s a bit more pricey. But it’s actually saving me more money, at this rate I’ll be buying another one of these every 3 months! So that’s…4 times a year? 5 max? That’s incredible. I’ll probably stick with Cremo for life honestly. And I’m a woman!💕🎀

High Quality and Smells Great!
This is so far superior to the standard soaps that you buy off the shelf in a supermarket. It creates a truly luxurious lather and smells fantastic without being obnoxious or perfume.

Best vanilla body wash I've seen
Proper vanilla scent with a kick, without the vomit inducing synthetic aftertaste

A major upgrade from standard drugstore brands—sophisticated scent & better lather.
I have been a long-time user of standard body washes (think Old Spice, Axe, or Dove Men), but I kept seeing hype about Cremo and decided to see if it was worth the slightly higher price tag. After using the 32oz Spice & Black Vanilla for a week, I can confidently say this is a massive upgrade for your shower routine.
Here is how it stacks up against the typical grocery store brands:
1. The Scent is on another level:
Most cheaper washes smell like generic "Sport" or "Ocean" cologne. This scent is much more complex and earthy.
Top Notes: It starts with a sharp, spicy kick (that's the cardamom).
Finish: It settles into a smooth, warm vanilla and tobacco scent. It smells more like a high-end department store fragrance than a soap.
Staying Power: The scent actually lingers. If you shower in the morning, you will still catch subtle hints of the warm spices for a few hours, which pairs really well with woody colognes.
2. Performance & Feel:
The consistency is thicker than what I'm used to. You only need one solid pump to get a rich lather with a loofah. Crucially, it rinses clean without leaving that "squeaky" residue that dries out your skin, but it also doesn't leave a slick oily film like some ultra-moisturizing washes do. It hits a perfect balance.
3. Value:
The 32oz bottle is substantial. Because the gel is concentrated, I expect this bottle to last 3-4 months easily, making the cost per ounce very reasonable compared to buying smaller bottles of cheaper stuff every few weeks.
Pros:
Sophisticated, "grown-up" scent profile.
High-quality pump (sturdy, doesn't clog).
Non-drying formula is great for colder months.
Cons:
Potency: The scent is strong. If you are sensitive to fragrance or prefer unscented products, this might be overwhelming. The bathroom will smell like it for a good 20 minutes after you're done (which I enjoy, but keep it in mind).
Verdict:
This bridges the gap between basic hygiene and luxury grooming. If you are tired of smelling like "Blue Sport" and want something warmer and more refined for the fall/winter, this is absolutely worth the switch.

It smells as good as my cologne.
I never go out without a shot of Guerlain L'Homme Idéal L'Intense cologne. Guerlain does not offer a layered line of products with similar scents. I wanted a deodorant and body wash to match. None of the Old Spice scents came close. Axe Oud Wood & Dark Vanilla antiperspirant has more vanilla and is a bit subdued but works.
Finding a body wash was harder. Cremo Spice & Black Vanilla Body Wash sounded promising, but I was apprehensive about its scent including tobacco. I did not want to smell like an ashtray. But when I opened the bottle, I was met with a surprising scent from the past. I immediately recognized it as premium Danish pipe tobacco. Most people do not recognize this aromatic scent as coming from tobacco at all. In fact, it smells more like fresh cured tobacco itself, not its smoke. This adds a very pleasant and masculine smell to the body wash on top of the spice, wood, and vanilla scent I was searching for.
The scent only lasts a few hours after you rinse off. One push on the dispenser puts enough soap on a shower loofah to wash your whole body. I do not rinse off my loofah; I squeeze the soap out of it to wash my face, then I place it back in its tray next to the bottle. The scent of the remaining soap acts like incense until my next shower.
I was also pleasantly surprised to find that this body soap has a rich lather and cleans as well as advertised. I had forgotten the reason I bought the body soap until I used it.
