For innovative composer Max de Wardener, music is a kind of time travel, a means of exploring the antique and the arcane and repurposing them for a forward-facing now. Classically trained, de Wardener is nevertheless renowned for compositions that explore everything from church organs to self-built instruments, as well as electronics and more orthodox chamber configurations. On Kolmar, his debut album for Village Green, the composer teases pure, dream-like sine wave tones from recondite, early-to-mid 20th century instruments like the ondes martenot, the Cristal Baschet and the glass harmonica. de Wardener melds these seamlessly with heavily manipulated Buchla and Oberheim analogue synthesisers, grand pipe organs pitched down several octaves (or with all the stops pushed in "so that the sound collapses") and miscellaneous exotic but precisely applied acoustic percussion, most of it courtesy of prodigious jazz drummer Moses Boyd. Yet for all it's vintage kit, this is no techno-historical grab bag or sonic museum piece. Nor is it merely an exercise in arch retro-futurism. Kolmar, over two years in the making, is often ravishingly mellifluous and emotionally stirring, while simultaneously retaining the power to disorient - provoking and unsettling the ear as readily as charming and seducing it. Kolmar was recorded at Tramways Studios in London, at synth specialists Simon Sound in Brighton and at the Alsace-Lorraine studio of rare instrument collector and sometime Radiohead and Tom Waits affiliate Thomas Bloch, whose painstaking glass instrument multi-tracking was crucial in realising what de Wardener had envisioned for these delicate devices (he is "a craftsman of the monophonic", the composer submits). The album is in fact named after the small town in the Franco-German borderlands, Colmar, close to Bloch's studio. Propelled and defined by such playful means of disrupting default creative gesture, Kolmar is the work of a musical adventurer eager to map terra incognita, albeit using some resonant contours of the past. Crucially, de Wardener's delight in pure tone and ingenuous joy in the sculptural possibility of sound are as palpable as they are persuasive. Time travel has rarely sounded so compelling.1. No flaws, not high end
Color: Pink, Size: Medium
I nabbed this for my in shape 14 year old son who had an upcoming wrestling banquet. It fit very true to size for him however as a low-mid grade dress shirt it had little flex or mobility across the chest and that’s ok, this is an entry level dress shirt and perfect for this and similar events.
The color was vibrant and well saturated, and the fabric itself was thin enough for some transparency but thick enough to be considered medium weight. It would not be a cooling dress shirt.
It did not have a soft hand, rather a sturdy rougher feel akin to a dress shirt a restaurant server would wear and laundry frequently which is also ok because it is exactly what a polo in this range should be. If you are looking for a flexible chest and soft touch you will need a better fabric blend and you pay a lot more for that.
The buttons were nice and collar looked good.
I would recommend this for any average event or occasion or even for work. If you are looking to impress on an interview or a date or during high heat you might need to look elsewhere.
For what it is it’s perfect. Buyer and shirt need to remember this and keep it in its shirt lane.

Good shirt, not great, but it was never trying to be
Color: Navy Blue, Size: Medium
Let’s start with the fabric. The 50/50 cotton-polyester blend sounds like a compromise, and I suppose it is — but it’s a good one. You get enough cotton to feel like an actual shirt and enough polyester to keep things from turning into a sweat tent in the heat. It holds its shape after washing. No complaints.
The collar is a genuine highlight. The pin tips keep the points flat and symmetrical, which is a small thing until you’ve owned a shirt where the collar curls after two washes. You’ll notice it. There’s also a hidden plaid print under the collar — a subtle detail that’s only visible when unbuttoned. Unnecessary, but charming.
Fit is true to size. Order what you normally order.
It’s versatile enough to tuck in for the office or wear loose on the weekend. Not going to replace your best Oxford. But at this price, it was never trying to.

Easy to order, fast delivery, great quality for the price.
Color: White, Size: Large
My husband had been looking for a white dress shirt, in oxford material off and on for two years. Most dress shirts are so big on the sides because we usually have to fit about a 17 1/2" neck. Started looking at Amazon's clothing section. Saw the COOFANDY Men's Long Sleeve Regular Fit Button Down Oxford Shirt, and ordered by Large instead of sleeve length, neck size, etc. I ordered as a surprise hoping it would work. When the COOFANDY shirt arrived, I had him try it on. Perfect fit, nice oxford material. Washed and ironed before he wore it to church. He loved it! I have now ordered three more COOFANDY men's long sleeve shirts. Hubby now wants me to see if they have short sleeve shirts! Great buy at $25.00.
