After that hurdle was crossed all that was left was the crying. Figurative, Literal, and Literary. Assembling a book is a lot of work. Assembling 7 books AT ONCE is a LOTTOF work! But since the collective work of Fran and Pat are floodlights into Abysmal Darkness then the real crying had to do with the horrors heaped on the children featured in this book. We approached it from the point of view of a celebration of their lives, but the dank Darkness creeps in nonetheless. The images and words are the same as they appear on Fran Zetta's and Patrick's websites, with a few additions you will find nowhere else. Special to these additions is a poem written by one of our Little Red Hen researchers: Sandwich Lady that was so touching that Fran did an image for it as soon as we read it. 25 images. 138 printed pages.
