The cover (new condition), magazine with rules attached (new condition with glossy white pages, except the two table of contents pages have a mild but long crease, likely occurring during the printing process which does detract from their appearance, but does not interfere with readability and page seven has minor creasing in the border area in the lower right corner), 22"x32" full-color map (new condition), and 176 full-color counters (nicely-centered front & back and in unpunched new condition) are all in new condition apart from minor issues.  A very hard to find issue in superb condition!

The excellent bonus includes two pages of optional rules which were not part of the original rules, a lengthy video introduction to the game, and some other items which may prove interesting and or useful!  Some to all of the bonus will be sent by email upon shipping your purchase.   All bonus and extras material are available for sale separately if requested.


The First Crusade is a solitaire wargame system covering the First Crusade of 1097-99. The player controls Crusader and allied Byzantine and Cilician Armenian forces. The game system controls Muslim forces (Seljuk Turks and Fatimids) as well as the Assassins.  The objective of the player is to reconquer the Holy Land while accomplishing various quests in the name of Christendom.  The game gets high marks for being a good introductory wargame, being easy to learn, and for being fast paced.

Components: One 22" x 34" map & 176 counters.

Game Designers: Joseph Miranda.  Published in July - August 2016 by Decision Games (DG).

It's not a big deal because they're not expensive, but they don't last long once I give them to my dogs. I don't like the smell much, but I'm pregnant and more smell-sensitive than most now. My husband doesn't seem as bothered by the smell, so they might not be too bad for most people. The smell isn't bad enough that I wouldn't repurchase, but I think I'd probably choose something else since they don't last long and I was looking for something to keep the dogs busy for at least a few minutes.
