The light has a huge polished VMX junction box connected to the back of the lamp housing, this is then connected to both the xternal reflector shade and the Vmax17 cage. These lights have 2 mounting options, directly mmounted to a wall or ceiling or hung by the included screw in eye. This is a great looking piece from a great American manufacturer
