◆綠葉茂密的平台與平台之間懸掛著多條寬闊的藤蔓走道，宛若龍爪大小的橘色蘭花點綴其間。其中幾棟樹屋的四面有矮牆，上面有編織而成的頂篷，其他樹屋則全是露天，鋪滿白花，宛若天空飄落下來的雲朵。榮光瞄到幾隻昏昏欲睡的灰色樹獺正在藤蔓走道上或漫步或擺盪。她不免納悶牠們到底夠不夠聰明，知不知道四周都是隨時可能吃掉牠們的翼龍。
這是我所見過最酷的地方，榮光得意洋洋的想道，而且是我的家。
◆拯救世界和阻止戰爭是預言裡的龍子該做的事，但我又不在那個預言裡。但如果我就認命的做一頭很普通的雨翼龍，那就表示我其實很閒，一點也不忙。
到底是要跟著龍子的天命走？還是就乾脆當個傻蛋，懶散度日算了？和平龍爪，你們給我的這兩個選擇還真是難。
◆戰爭離雨翼族的距離其實比他們想像得近，她心想道，就在他們門口，隨時準備破門而入，入侵這個平和的世界。華麗女王的身影在她腦海裡瞬間浮現，她抬眼怒瞪著樹頂，那個一無是處的女王到時候是要怎麼應付打進家門的戰爭？
閃炫跟華麗比起來也好不了多少，要是我們選了她，只會害沙翼族變得跟雨翼族一樣積弱不振。
◆「我會贏的。」榮光說道，同時又看了紅樹林的鱗甲一眼。她想到蘭花和其他雨翼龍，他們被鏈了起來，嘴巴封住，只有腐臭的食物可吃，所待的囚室暗無天日，再也無法回到自己的家園。「我一定要贏。」
◆我不需要把她們拖進來。我絕對可以靠自己打敗這幾位女王。有什麼事是這五頭雨翼龍能做到而我辦不到的呢？要是我不找幫手，靠自己的力量就擊敗她們，大家不是會對我更另眼相看嗎？……
我是不是又在犯同樣的錯？不過當時就算靠我自己也是逃得出來的。
但她知道這不是真的。要是沒有蜜熊、阿土和死亡使者，她到現在一定都還被困在夜翼族的囚室裡……而且萬一被夜翼龍發現她的真實身分，搞不好也早就死了。
所以別再逞強了，有幫手幫你贏得王位，又不會讓當上女王的你少一塊肉。
★本集關鍵出場角色介紹★
華麗、宏偉、壯麗、耀眼、精巧、果蝠：都是雨翼族的女王。雨翼族女王之位採用「輪值」方式，沒有翼龍特別想當女王。每次輪值時間是一個月。也因此引起榮光的反彈。
烏賊、蛇蠍、阿褐、燄火、說命者：和平龍爪組織找的另外五位「天命龍子」，他們分別是：烏賊屬於海翼族，蛇蠍是沙翼族，阿褐是泥翼族，燄火為天翼族，說命者則是夜翼族。其中，烏賊是和平龍爪首領鸚鵡螺的兒子。
阿土：泥翼族，來自於鑽石浪花三角洲，喜歡睡覺勝於讀書，似乎是傳說裡那顆：「從龍血色的蛋裡孵出來的泥翼龍能穿火而行」。他善體人意，自認自己相當遲鈍，也沒有守護者期待的凶殘殺傷力。
海嘯：海翼族，守護者大蹼從海翼龍女王的孵化室偷來的蛋。她的名言是：「去跳河。」無聊嗎？骨頭痛嗎？鱗甲太乾嘛？腦袋裡快被戰爭史塞爆嗎？五頭龍子只要有誰出聲抱怨，她就會大聲說：「去跳河！」個性強悍，五位龍子中唯一能在水底下呼吸的翼龍。
榮光：雨翼族，身體有各種美麗的顏色，能隨時偽裝融入背景色，還有毒液；是最後一刻才被臨時找來替代天翼族的蛋。在學習和訓練上最認真，但因為每天午後都要小睡一下，老是被守護者認為很懶惰。
星飛：夜翼族，和「明日先知」一樣是夜翼族。傳說中夜翼龍是天生的領袖，有超能力，而且星飛愛讀書，是五位龍子裡的資優生。
晴朗：沙翼族，守護者沙丘仔在沙漠裡找到的蛋孵化而成。眼睛是灰綠色，鱗甲的顏色非常金黃色，尾巴的尾尖跟多數龍族的尾巴尾尖一樣普通，而非像沙翼龍那樣有與生俱來的可怕武器——會分泌毒液的倒鉤尾尖。不具殺傷力，五位龍子裡最小的妹妹。
閃炫、火焚、裂爆女王：沙翼族，綠洲女王的三個女兒。閃炫在沙翼族很受到愛戴，與冰翼族結盟。火焚則是個頭兒最大又最可怕，與天翼族和泥翼族結盟；裂爆和海翼族同一陣線，比起她們兩位都聰明，她使計讓所有部族都參戰，把沙翼族的王位之爭搞成世界大戰，在系列第二集《火翼飛龍：失蹤的繼承人》裡，她來到海翼王國，成為珊瑚女王的客人，名言是：「我們不想終止戰爭，我們要打贏這場戰爭。」
明日先知：夜翼族，是「和平龍爪」組織的成員。全身漆黑到像個無底洞、個子高到連頭都會擦碰到穴頂，翼翅內層有銀色的星狀鱗片，會投射出一種寒冽的光暈。。
隼紅、沙丘仔、大蹼：管理五位龍子的守護者。隼紅，天翼族，為了營救逃脫的五位龍子，遭猩紅女王綁架。沙丘仔是身有殘疾的沙翼龍，專門負責教他們求生技巧。大蹼，海翼族，發現「和平龍爪」的祕密後被攻擊。
猩紅：天翼族女王。她個子比隼紅小，在庇利亞，她是在位最久、最可怕的女王之一，也是最想鏟除天命龍子的翼龍之一。
珊瑚：海翼族女王，翼翅是藍色的，身上戴著珍珠首飾，還穿著細網狀背心，這是她為避免失去女兒，用一副背帶和小女兒海葵相連，時刻不分離。然而，珊瑚女王只要發現有誰跟「和平龍爪」組織合作，一定是殺無赦。

I’m a little disappointed.

I usually like Jillian West’s books but this one was missing a lot for me. The pregnancy didn’t come across as real. She’s on her feet for 12 hour days but is perfectly healthy at 8 months pregnant? Yet the week she moves in all of a sudden she’s not? She is planning on actually running during one of the plot buildups. But at 8 months pregnant that’s incredibly hard to do. The lack of breathing ability and lung space, the change in body center, mass, and gravity. All of it prohibits running, unless you’re an athlete this didn’t come off as at all realistic.
I didn’t feel any connection with the alphas. There wasn’t any emotional connection. It could be because of the tense it was written in. But I didn’t get any deep feelings out of this. It came across as checking off boxes. Even the spicy scenes weren’t really believable for me. I wanted to see them fall for her, and it just kind of all fizzled. Even Bishop.
One thing I did really like was the ending. I did not see it coming and I’m interested in reading book two because of it. But on the whole this book was mostly disappointing for me.

Vale is an 8 month pregnant omega working as a waitress at a strip club and a cam girl. She starts to get very creepy vibes from a regular at the club, and her baby daddy ghosted her. She has had an online relationship with a man named Bishop through her cam girl status. One night, bishop was paying to watch her sleep and ansthe creepy regular Andrew break in and watch her sleep he tells vale to come to him at his business now. She flees and finds herself at a large security company with some.hot of alphas who are there to help her. This imegaverse is a little different than I have read, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. Vale is not a traditional omega she was raised by a single beta mom, and the alphas are not normal alphas they have never really loved pack life. But they are ruthless mercenaries. They need her, and she needs them. I love the aspect of the stalker and now the plot twists at the end, so so good. Sometimes, it seemed a little slow and stale mated, but since this a duet, I think It was just her starting to have Vale get to know her alpha suitors. Cliffhanger for sure with this one.

That ending 😫

I fell into a false sense of security and really thought this was gearing towards a happy ending. Then I realized there’s no work they don’t punish Andrew. I really liked Vale’s character. I don’t normally read books with pregnancy but going into this knowing she was pregnant made it more enjoyable for me.
I loved Bishops devotion to her and her happiness. I also loved that Holt and Mercy couldn’t fight their attraction to her. I love scent matches so very much. I’m so curious to see how this duet will end up. And I need to pay more attention and notice that a book I’m starting is a duet to begin with lol

I just knew there was something about Cooper! I’m wondering if he’s about to be included but damn I’m glad he’s at least not a rapist and creepy guy, he just got called on assignment and had to go! This should be interesting! She’s gonna run and then what’s his face is gonna grab her. I’m worried! Wow that was a great book and cliffhanger! Loving this!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Jillian West and her books!!! I’m so happy I already bought book two and now I have to buy the others for the Assurance Security series!!
Not gonna lie Val kind of annoyed me at the beginning but she grew on me!! Her men are chef’s kisses!!! Holt annoys me some but I can let it slide. I already bought part two so I’m going to be reading that in between work phone calls!!!! DON’T TELL MY BOSS 😂😂😂😂
