This ecological, non-abrasive packing is made from a continuous interconnected braid of thermostable synthetic fibres impregnated with PTFE lubricant free from APFO, together with a special silicone-free running-in lubricant. Unlike conventional synthetic braided packings, it is less rigid and therefore adapts easily to the shape of stuffing boxes. It installs without difficulty, requires minimal gland tightening and only occasional adjustments. The packing conforms well to shaft bushings, offers high extrusion resistance, does not bleed or stain, is clean to handle and does not leave residue. In addition to the general advantages of braided packings, it provides exceptional flexibility, avoids excessive shaft wear often caused by other synthetic yarns, eliminates the risk of electrolytic pitting associated with carbon or graphite fibres and presents no limitations regarding shaft speed or elongation and extrusion problems typically found in PTFE fibres.
