Capture More of Your World

The Sony ZV-E10 is ideal for vloggers because it combines a sizable APS-C sensor with mirrorless mobility and a feature set tailored specifically for content producers. The ZV-E10 is an Alpha camera that improves on the omnipresent smartphone with better image quality, a wider variety of lenses, and more control to boost your creativity when shooting.

The ZV-E10 is the mirrorless continuation of the idea of a camera designed around the concept of vlogging, which was first introduced with the ZV-1. Although it is a very competent and portable camera, it also features a number of design features and shooting options that are perfect for one-person productions. The embedded directional mic is designed specifically to capture sound from front-facing subjects more accurately, the vari-angle screen allows you to precisely frame photos, and shooting modes like Background Defocus and Product Showcase make it simple to highlight particular subjects.

Vlogging Features: Optimized Camera Design

  • The rear 3.0" 921.6k-dot touchscreen LCD has a side flip-out design that is perfect for photographing selfies or self-portraits in a comfortable and natural way.
  • A side-opening screen enables a new top plate with a directional 3-capsule microphone that is intended exclusively for audio recording in the forward direction. Additionally, a specialised wind shield is included for the built-in mic to help with better audio when working outside. The included wind screen adaptor, which screws into the camera's shoe mount and holds the wind screen to the side, is used to connect it.
  • The Multi Interface Shoe also benefits from audio recording capabilities, and both 3.5mm microphone and headphone ports are included for more sophisticated audio recording. When used with appropriate shoe-mounted microphones, this extra shoe offers a digital audio interface that reduces background noise while recording, as well as removing cable clutter and the requirement for external power.
  • The front tally lamp acts as a visible cue that recording is taking place. Additionally, the LCD can show a red border frame to act as yet another recording indicator.
  • The camera's video and audio capabilities can be used for live social media and video conferencing by simply connecting the camera to a computer or compatible mobile device via USB. This makes live streaming available right from the camera. For enhanced video and audio during streaming, UVC and UAC standards are supported.

Specialized Shooting Modes

  • The Product Showcase setting, which enables quick and seamless focus changes between a subject's face and an object in front of the lens, is perfect for vlogging and product review or demonstration videos.
  • Face-Priority AE detects the subject's face and adjusts the exposure to ensure the face is depicted in an ideal brightness, even if walking from a bright place into shade. The AE technology also suppresses abrupt changes in exposure if the subject quickly turns away from the frame to eliminate unexpected blown-out or extremely dark shots.
  • Using advanced colour science, it is possible to generate a healthy, natural-looking appearance that is inclusive of people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities by optimising skin tones for any subject, in both still and video modes.
  • The Soft Skin Effect can be applied to a subject's face to soften and smooth wrinkles or imperfections in order to provide a natural, flawless complexion. The Off, Low, or Hi settings can be changed from the Mid default level. Extended continuous video recording is available for longer takes when the Auto Power OFF Temp. option is set to High.
  • Background Defocus enables you to quickly adjust to the associated lens's maximum aperture setting utilising a custom button function for separating your subject with bokeh and a shallow depth of field.
  • To indicate vertical recording orientation for direct playback in mobile apps or other situations where vertical video playback is required, movie material can be labelled with particular metadata.
  • Active SteadyShot is a cutting-edge method of image stabilisation that guarantees steady footage when in motion, even when filming handheld while moving.

Image Quality, Autofocus, and 4K Video

24.2MP APS-C Exmor CMOS Sensor and BIONZ X Processor

  • An updated APS-C-format 24.2MP Exmor CMOS sensor achieves a smooth, nuanced image quality with less noise and great sensitivity from ISO 100-32000, which can be further enlarged to ISO 51200 for working in low-light circumstances.
  • The sensor proportions are up to 10 times larger than some smartphone sensors and about 3 times larger than a 1" sensor, allowing for superior depth-of-field control and increased sensitivity.
  • The sensor and BIONZ X processor combo also offers a maximum continuous shooting rate of 11 fps with AF and AE and allows for the output of 14-bit raw files for a broad tone and colour spectrum.

425-Point Fast Hybrid AF

  • A fast, natural, and precise focusing performance is achieved by the sensor's 425-point Fast Hybrid AF system, which combines phase-detection and contrast-detection techniques.
  • The on-chip focusing technology can focus in as little as 0.02 seconds and can cover 84% of the sensor area.
  • When taking pictures, Real-time Eye AF can prioritise focusing on human or animal eyes to guarantee sharpness. You can opt to prioritise the right or left eye when using this function, which is enabled by partially pressing the shutter button.
  • Real-time tracking makes use of AI-based techniques to instantly identify and follow moving objects. This tracking approach will further monitor a subject's eye or face in real time with seamless switching based on the status of the moving subject if Face/Eye Priority AF is enabled.

4K Video Recording

  • Up to 30p UHD 4K video recording is available, and complete pixel readout and 6K oversampling are used to produce more detail with less moiré and aliasing. Both resolutions use the 100 Mb/s XAVC S format enclosed in an MP4 wrapper with 4:2:0 sampling, while full HD 1080p recording is also available at frame rates up to 120 fps. Uncompressed HDMI output permits the use of an optional external recorder for clear 4K recording with 4:2:2 sampling in addition to high-resolution internal recording.
  • There is no time limit for filming movies, enabling for longer takes and nonstop coverage of live events.
  • The ZV-E10 offers consumers a wide range of configurable colour and gamma adjustments, allowing them to change the gamma, black level, knee, colour level, and more. Use the S-Log2 Gamma Curve, which packs up to 1300% more dynamic range into the video stream than the conventional Rec. 709, found on high-end Sony Cinema cameras, for greater post-production versatility. Along with the BT.2020 colour space, HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) support is also available for recording within a broad colour gamut. Additionally, S-Log2 and S-Log3 are both available for providing an effective 14-stop dynamic range with improved grading flexibility in the image's shadow and midtone areas.
  • The Slow & Quick (S&Q) mode enables shooters to record Full HD video at preset intervals between 1 and 120 frames per second. You can use these parameters to both speed up a scenario that is moving slowly and to slow down movement.
  • When using Imaging Edge software to make time-lapse videos, interval shooting mode is perfect. In order to record up to 9999 consecutive free records, intervals between 1 and 60 seconds can be chosen. Long interval shooting sessions can also benefit from in-camera battery recharge via the USB connector utilising a portable battery.

Physical Design and Wireless Connectivity

Camera Body Design

  • The camera has an expansive right-hand grip and an easy-to-use physical control arrangement because it was designed for portable applications and one-handed use.
  • The grip design and the variable-angle LCD are also conducive to working while looking forward, as while vlogging or shooting selfies.
  • Select Power Zoom lenses function with the integrated zoom lever that encircles the shutter button.
  • Even when the power switch is set to "On," the camera will turn off automatically if the variable-angle screen is folded up against the body with the screen facing inside.
  • Direct access to frequently used vlogging features is made possible by dedicated buttons for "Movie Record," "Background Defocus," "Product Showcase," and "S&Q."
  • Up to 440 shots, or roughly 125 minutes of recording, can be obtained from the included NP-FW50 battery on a single charge. The camera can also get power from the USB Type-C connection or the optional AC-PW20AM AC adapter.

Wireless and Sharing

  • Images can be instantly transferred to mobile devices via built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity for direct online sharing on social networking sites, via email, and on cloud storage websites. Once connected, the mobile device can use Smart Remote Control to remotely operate the camera's shutter release and show a live view image on its screen.
  • The Movie Edit add-on from the Imaging Edge mobile app is also compatible with the ZV-E10.
  • For effective camera control, Bluetooth connectivity enables attaching to the optional GP-VPT2BT Wireless Shooting Grip.

Right from the start, I was drawn in by the prologue!!!
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
Queen of Roses (Blood of a Fae #1) by Briar Boleyn Genre General Fiction ( Adult), Romance, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Dark Romance “More primordial than the stars. My name was on his lips as he promised unspeakable darkness to any who came between us.” Right from the start, I was drawn in by the prologue!!! I’m a big fan of “touch her, and you die” vibes, but I mean, what’s also not to love about a unique Arthurian retelling with gender twists, a treacherous royal court, a dangerous quest, magical Fae & mystical monsters, entwined with a bit of spice! Morgan, Princess of Pendrath and true heir to the throne has spent most of her life dimming her light to feel safe and to make others comfortable. She is treated as an outcast in the court and repressed by her family due to the blood of the Fae within her and forced to join the Temple of the Three as a priestess in training to one day replace Merlin. Her brother, King Arthur, who reminds me of Joffrey from Game of Thrones, later tells her that he has other plans and offers her a choice of the Temple or to marry her off for political gain, unless… that is, she can journey through the great unknown and return with a long-lost fae weapon with enchanted powers known as Excalibur. Her quest begins with a roguish crew that includes the mysterious, arrogant, and heart-tuggingly handsome Captain of the Royal Guard, Kairos Draven, whom she can’t decide if she wants to stab or indulge in pleasure with. Along the way are plenty of surprises, mystical creatures, and betrayal, all while Morgan uncovers more of the truth about herself and who she can trust. This book had intriguing storylines and lovable characters that kept me turning pages and wanting more. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds and comes together in book 2, Court of Claws, which I just started reading!! Read if you’re into- Dark Fantasy/Romance Slow–Burn Question Everything Magic and Action Fae Arthurian Legend Stabby/Broken FFC Morally Gray MMC Forced Proximity Queen of Roses is perfect for Holly Black, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Sarah J. Maas fans. Please check the trigger warnings page in the table of contents before reading this book.

3.5 stars, A little boring to say the least.
Format: Kindle
Wow so I'm not sure where to begin on this one. This was a very different take on the legend of Arthur and Excalibur. This is told from the point of view of Morgan the sister of Arthur. Honestly the first 50% of this book is world building and character building which unfortunately was super boring for me. Morgan to me was a female MC that had a hard time in believing in herself. Sometimes taking too long to understand exactly what was going on around her. Draven was also a different male MC, like I couldn't put my finger on him and what he was all about. It was not until the last 10% of the book did we get some answers on the mystery that is Draven. The other 50% of the book centered around this big journey with everyone having a different motive. We see a spark of magic around this time that had me excited but then we never expanded upon that and what it could mean for the female MC. I feel like I want to read the second book just to see where this goes, but the spice was probably a 2 out of 5. Side characters are ok, Lancelet was fun but I almost felt like I wanted more.

A bewitching retelling of Arthurian legend!
Format: Kindle
In a land where the Fae have nearly become only a legend and those who still posses even a morsel of the blood are few and far between, Morgan finds herself cast aside by most of society due to her rumored half-Fae lineage, including her brother, King Arthur. With the kingdom at the brink of war, Arthur entrusts her with a quest to retrieve a Fae weapon of legendary power: the sword of Perun, Excalibur. Accompanied by men she loathes, Captain Kairos Draven and Ragnar Whitehorn, she embarks on her long and unbeknownst perilous journey, only to find that things she once believed to be myth are in fact very real. With devastating twists, omitted truths, witty banter and fierce action, Queen of Roses leaves you begging to know more about the secrets of Aercanum! Wow, wow, wow! Going into this story, I did not realize that it was going to be a retelling of Arthurian legend, especially not one with a fantastical twist! The unique spin almost gave me The Witcher vibes and I think adding Fae into the mix was quite interesting. I knew the basics of the legend but after reading this book, it has piqued my interest and makes me want to learn more about it. My attention was snatched as soon as I finished the prologue and I knew that I was going to devour this story. I truly enjoyed the gender swaps and even how Arthur was portrayed as villainous. Morgan’s past and even her parts of her present is absolutely heartbreaking, and I felt for her at times. I can only recall one other book that made me hate characters the way I despised Florian and Arthur, leaving me with my blood boiling and feeling disgusted. Even after finishing the book, Draven is still a mystery to me and I cannot figure out how to feel about him. I guess they just means that the author did an excellent job at conveying each character’s persona! The rich world building and imagery made it easy for me to visualize the places that the group visited along their journey. I am truly engulfed in this story and I cannot wait to see wait fate awaits Morgan and how the Fae will be even more incorporated in the next book!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Enchanting
Format: Kindle
"Queen of Roses" by Briar Boleyn is a delightful and refreshing reimagining of the classic tale of King Arthur, with a captivating twist that places the spotlight on Morgan, a character who has often been overshadowed in traditional retellings. Boleyn's creative decision to shift the narrative perspective to Morgan breathes new life into the story, offering readers an intriguing and compelling look at the Arthurian world from an entirely different angle. One of the most commendable aspects of this book is its incorporation of Fae elements, which adds an enchanting layer of magic and mystery to the already familiar Arthurian setting. Boleyn skillfully weaves the world of the Fae into the narrative, creating a captivating backdrop against which the events of the story unfold. This addition not only adds depth to the world-building but also provides ample opportunities for twists and turns that keep readers thoroughly engrossed. However, while the book boasts numerous strengths, it does have one noticeable flaw: the characterization of Morgan. While it is reasonable to create a flawed and complex protagonist, it appears that at times, Morgan's character becomes overly difficult and hard to relate to. Her persistently negative perception of one of the main male characters, who is a potential love interest, despite his efforts to support and assist her, may come across as somewhat irrational and could test the patience of some readers. Striking a balance between a strong, independent character and one who can recognize genuine support and affection could have enhanced the overall reader experience. Nonetheless, the allure of "Queen of Roses" lies in its innovative approach to the Arthurian legend and its skillful blending of fantasy elements into a familiar narrative. Boleyn's evocative prose draws readers into a world where magic, destiny, and fate entwine, leaving us eager to uncover the mysteries that unfold within the pages. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
