Bell Aircraft Air Cobra Data Plate-AWESOME UPDATED INFO!Bell Aircraft Data Plate This is from a 1941 P 39D! This great piece was picked up by a GI who we will identify to the buyer. He was a senior mechanic on B 29s at Tinian and saw the Enola Gay and her crew. He also served on Saipan. The tag is an incredibly rare specimen that measures a little over 3 tall. This is identified as being a cockpit dataplate. (thank you to our customer HS for identifying this) It is rounded at the top, says Bell Aircraft

Bell Aircraft Data Plate-This is from a 1941 P-39D! This great piece was picked up by a GI who we will identify to the buyer. He was a senior mechanic on B-29s at Tinian and saw the Enola Gay and her crew. He also served on Saipan. The tag is an incredibly rare specimen that measures a little over 3” tall. This is identified as being a cockpit dataplate.  (thank you to our customer HS for identifying this)  It is rounded at the top, says “Bell Aircraft” and has information pertaining to the plane it was removed from. Awesome! 

UPDATED INFO thanks to our crack investigator Tom M! We now know that this was from an Air Cobra that was wrecked in Texas...
