Glofish

While fluorescent fish do occur naturally in the environment, these GloFish were selectively bred by scientists to exhibit fluorescent colors throughout their life spans. They did this by introducing a natural fluorescence gene to ordinary Zebra Danios, and this gene then passed on to their offspring. These fluorescent fish were initially used to detect pollutants in waterways, but they soon became very popular among the public and have been sold in the United States ever since.

The GloFish Brand was founded in 2001 by Alan Blake and Richard Crockett with the goal of providing the first ever fluorescent fish to the aquarium market. I bought these 6 months ago and they are great. They have stopped charging several times. The problem is the salt gets on the contacts and oxidized the contacts and the unit stops charging. You take sand paper and clean the contacts and they work fine again. I feel if the material on the charging port is made with stainless steel and the contacts on the grinders themselves are larger, I would have given this a 5 star. Even As it stands, I would purchase these again. I have several bad experiences buying manual grinders that last about a month and break. These are High Quality, but need to upgrade the contacts.
