Antique Silver Tableware & Serving Pieces/Spoons

An Austro Hungarian silver punch ladle with a wood handle circa 1850. The ladle has a double lipped fluted bowl. This style of punch ladle became popular in the mid-18th century. The wood handle has a painted black band with a partially worn painted gold design.

Punch is always associated with England and was usually made from rum or brandy, sugar, citrus fruit, spices (normally grated nutmeg) and water. The high point for popularity came in the mid-18th. Century. It was still being served in the 19th Century. The popularity of the drink created the need for punch bowls, ladles, goblets, orange/lemon strainers, label for bottles, goblets and more. For wealthy Georgians silver was the choice of materials.

Austro-Hungarian silver, marked with 13 (loth) indicating a fineness of .812 silver. Using Tardy’s reference book, I read the mark for the year 1845. There is another mark which is being researched.

I have acquired several ladles from a West Coast collection and will be listing them this week. Please use the search function for my shop to view the others.

Unfinished product - doesn't work - waste of money
in order to use this as an installation tool the directions tell you to drill a hole through the 2 inch steel rod..... either this hole should already be drilled, or this should not be advertised as an installation tool..... it will not install any bearings without extensive modification and requires the use of a drill press or a lathe. very dissatisfied that I now have to buy ANOTHER tool just to finish this job because this one doesn't do what it's described to do.... piece of junk... typical amazon garbage.... this is why I haven't used amazon in over a year... they rip you off with garbage.... I should have known better .... don't buy this junk .... Now they say 20 -30 days to get my refund .... Don't waste your time

Good tool, but must be hand drilled to accept bearing installation cup
Good tool, but you have to drill a hole in the bearing installation rod to accept the cross bolt that locks the bearing installation cup onto the rod.

I'm not sure what they're selling.
Gimbal extractor works. One of these guys needs to come down here and show me how the installer works. There is a driver for the bearing with pin but the driver rod itself has no hole like shown in the picture. How do you miss that?
