The problem with this is that with the new converter that has drastically less slip than a factory converter, that stress is now applied to the input shaft. Unfortunately, the factory cast input shaft does not have the ability to twist without breaking......so it does. On top of this, when an input shaft breaks, it will typically also destroy the torque converter, front pump, and many other transmission internals. This is why we stress that you MUST upgrade the input shaft when upgrading your torque converter, and ATS makes one of the best.
