This paper has been written by experienced markers and teachers to provide an authentic examination experience for Stage 6 (Yr 11/12) Photography, Video and Digital Imaging students. Marking guidelines are provided. It is excellent practice for examinations.

Two versions of the paper are available: Word and PDF. The Word version is designed for schools, tutors and teachers as it is copyrighted for use with multiple students. It can be printed and easily adapted. The cheaper PDF version MUST NOT be purchased for any type of instruction by any type of educator including, but not limited to, teachers, schools and tutors. PDFs are cheaper and the full writer royalty has been generously relinquished by writers as we support student initiated revision. They are ONLY for ONE student's personal use. PDFs are screen versions only and cannot be printed or edited. It is illegal for any type of educator to buy a PDF and it will not be supported by TEC.

I recently read an early copy of this book (Feb 2019). Beating Guns presents a thoughtful view of guns in our country. Seems like a good overview of where we are and how we got there. I appreciate that the views are presented by (fellows) that have held guns, so that they are not an abstract concept but a reality to them. I would hope this book helps people see the issues perhaps with a bit more understanding, and that in turn may lead to dialogue between people to arrive at a less antagonistic situation. This topic is complicated; no one book can possibly cover all the angles and options, yet this book and this approach are a reasonable way to keep people thinking about solutions.

This book is challenging. Mostly because it hurts. It hurts to see statistics. It hurts to see memorials of lives lost that didn't have to be. But for me, it hurts because we are to be kingdom people now and we've failed on the gun front. I'm in the process of taking a rifle that was used in suicide and turning into a tool for life. We need to do that. So buy the book. Read it. Wrestle with it. Then get to turning swords into ploughshares.
